Changeling Factotum [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-21-07, 04:00 PM I was thinking of using this for my character. I figured with the aid of charm person, etc from the spellcasting and all the cool abilities from it, that it would work out pretty well. Probably int and cha based so he can be the diplomat of the group, take a reserve feat so he can have a ranged attack all day.

Opinions? What kind of feats should I take? Should I try a different class instead of Factotum?

02-21-07, 05:51 PM Factotum? What book is that in? I haven't heard of it in all my - ok, my one - year of playing this game. Also, which reserve feat? Just so you know, most people here don't respond if the question isn't totally clear. They don't ask for clarifications. I need clarifications.

02-21-07, 05:57 PM It was clear to me, but I'm not an optimizer, so I'm not really sure what would work best.

This question might best be asked on the character optimization board, as I'm sure they have at least one person who has figured this out.

To the OP, im not really sure, as i just got the book and haven't read up on the Factorum yet

02-21-07, 11:19 PM With the factorum and changeling you should be able to handle all the diplomacy your group needs. As for reserve spells, i dont know how they would interact with the factorum, but if it works youve got a decent ammount of damage potential.

02-22-07, 08:54 AM I hate to burst your bubble, but my understanding of reserve feats is that you have to have spell slots to power them. Factotems gain spells as a spell like ability so this would not count. The character optimization board has an excellent Factotem Handbook, and this stratagy of gaining reserve feats was debunked by someone..If I am wrong, please correct me becuase reserve feats WOULD be awsome to use for this class.:)

02-22-07, 10:44 PM Yeah, WitheringSolid, I just realized that a while ago. That would be awesome if you could do that though... I suppose you could just house rule it if need be.

Either way I decided to go with a Changeling Beguiler, I like the casting ability a little more than what the Factotum has to offer. Well I guess it's off the the OP for me.
