| secher_nbiw4507-03-06, 04:45 AM | i've been playing with this group for 4-5 months now and we all get along well. we're mostly good(1 LG & 2NG) the problem is with or wizard and ranger wizard, both of whom are CN. they use their alignment to do whatever they want, regardless of consequences or how it affects the party. leaving wounded members at 1-2 hitpoints when they have potions to spare, stealing/lying to the rest of us, and intentionally mis-translating my cleric/paladins greetings and well-wishings to a group of already upset wildelves. because thats what CN is, they say. does anyone else have one of these in their group? these are the same guys who spent 1hour today haggling with merchants over what was a total of 75 gp (our group is worth a good deal more, it wasnt going to make-or-break us). i like them, theyre my friends, but this seems to be getting out of hand. anyone had to deal with this type before? thanks |

If your DM is not seeing it, make him see it, because lieing and stealing from the party, and causing trouble, is leading them to EVIL, not NEUTRAL... Also, if they screw with you to many times... stomp them, they deserved it, and if the DM says you lose alignment, stomp him too, cause he don't know jack about jack  |
| geekling07-03-06, 07:23 AM | So let me just recap, just to make sure I've not missread your post. You get along well with the players - there is no out of character conflict. But their characters are bascially unreliable jerkwads? Is there any reason why your character (or for that matter the other partymembers) would put up with two of the party screwing him and the other partymembers over, time and time again? No. Well then, why are you? What on earth is there to prevent your character from acting in character as well and oust them from the party? Next town you're in, 'bye, bye! We've talked it over and you're just not worth the risk, so you're on your own now guys. The three of us are going to continue, but for you two... This is the end of the road, you're a liability.' It'd probably not be a bad idea, since you are friends - even if your characters may not be, to talk it over - give the players advance warning. 'OK, chaps... here's the thing. Your character has gone to far, he's this close to burning his bridges when it comes to traveling with the rest of us. There's a limit to the **** our characters will put up with. So I guess it comes down to this, your characters repent and reform and at least stop working against the party - one more screw up the party and that's it. Or it's rolling up new characters time. Sorry, but that's just how it it. Our chaps just won't have your chaps in the party anymore. We've got to act in character too, and yours have just been too much of jerks for the rest of us to keep making excuses to keep them in the party.' |
| 1337Ninja07-03-06, 08:32 AM | Ah, sounds like some people have got a dose of Chaotic Stupid. Well, talk to them out of game about it. If that doesn't work, then why is your character sticking around these unpredictable, backstabbing, lying insults to Chaotic Neutral (my favourite alignment)? Pity you have a lawful character, so you can't do anything to them in their sleep, but just telling their characters to get lost should work. |
| Burrie07-03-06, 08:46 AM | Ach, in my humble opinion, acting because of an alignment is misinterpreting the whole alignment system as it is. A character's behaviour should influence the alignment, not the other way around. |
