| daggeroflath04-15-07, 12:47 PM | Vassal of Bahamut? Not familiar with that one. Which book is it from? |
| daggeroflath04-15-07, 12:48 PM | Never mind. Found it in the BoED. |
| Comus04-15-07, 12:50 PM | The spelling, capitalization, and punctuation hurt my eyes. I'm afraid I can't help you, looking at my D&D books is too difficult while I'm crying blood. |
| Tempest Stormwind04-15-07, 12:50 PM | Book of Exalted Deeds (I originally said Draconomicon; I was confusing it with the Platinum Knight). It's a nifty PrC. What you are asking is a question for the Character Optimization (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=339) forum (as it relates to building a strong character). If you post there, though, PLEASE read the posting guidelines first (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=626244). And for the love of all that is good and holy, learn to spell. For instance, it's "you", not "u", and since this is a forum (not an instant message), you can actually take the time to press two extra keys to spell the full word. I won't help you here on general principle because the way you write fills me with rage akin to the burning fires of a thousand suns, each of which is made out of other, lesser suns. That burn. With flames. The flames are also on fire. |
| Kitaki04-15-07, 01:11 PM | Vassal of Bahamut - BoED Draconomicon is the Platinum Knight But ya, this is better suited to the Character Optimization board. |
| millerwc04-15-07, 01:20 PM | Through the pain of reading your post, I remembered a NPC character I was working on, not sure it will be any good as a pc, but worth mentioning. Ranger4/Paladin5/VassalX As far as feats go, Devoted Tracker, and Dragon Steed are the ones that make this character interesting. If you're using the book of exalted deeds, grab celestial mount as well. Straight paladin might be better, but the ranger levels give the character an interesting grizzled veteran dragon hunter feel to it. Combat style I would say go with ranged, take rapid reload and get a decent crossbow. |
| daggeroflath04-15-07, 01:41 PM | Book of Exalted Deeds (I originally said Draconomicon; I was confusing it with the Platinum Knight). It's a nifty PrC. I made exactly the same mistake. They seem extraordinarily similar. As for the OP, I assume that by warrior you actually meant fighter? (warrior is an NPC class which really isn't all that great). I'd recommend some ranger levels at the start rather than fighter. The extra skill points and the ability to take a favoured enemy could really help you when you're going against a specific opponent like dragons. |
| levante1904-16-07, 08:20 AM | Dear cosmos and tempest! thankyou for exposing my learning difficaltys and making a fun of them! allways a good laugh to have ones problems rubbed in ones face! and also the reason for using instant message abriviations was because i was using a friends computer under a time limit. again thankyou for pointing out these useless notes of infomation and not actualy helping me with my question! |
| darkness ninja of light04-16-07, 08:37 AM | Actually, Tempest helped you out a lot. The Character Optimization forums are what you are looking for. They help out with creating powerful characters. Still though, in these forums you will get a lot of criticism for using chat room speak. You didn't really post like you were in a hurry either ("so let's get down to bizz!!"). It's not quite right to bash someone for poor spelling, but in any case, thoughtfull, well-written posts will always get more helpful replies. |
| levante1904-16-07, 08:45 AM | well i am sorry that i did not post my thread to your standards! i didnt realise that 1) i had to use perfect english and 2) it was a crime to put a bit of emotion into my pasage! but yes i thankyou for agreing with me, i did not post here to be made a mockery of, just for help. |
| Tytalus04-16-07, 10:07 AM | Look, it's pretty simple: you are asking for help and it's just an expected courtesy to use a reasonably readable format. The boards even help you with spell checking, so it's not too hard. The proper advice was already given by TS: check the optimization board, and make sure you read the guidelines beforehand. |
| daggeroflath04-16-07, 10:32 AM | The boards even help you with spell checking, so it's not too hard. Oh that reminds me, I was looking for the spellchecker the other day. I can't seem to find it. Where do I look? |
| Comus04-16-07, 12:21 PM | Dear cosmos and tempest! thankyou for exposing my learning difficaltys and making a fun of them! allways a good laugh to have ones problems rubbed in ones face! and also the reason for using instant message abriviations was because i was using a friends computer under a time limit. again thankyou for pointing out these useless notes of infomation and not actualy helping me with my question! No problem. As an editor, I take pride in belittling and mocking people who use the English language like a crude club. For my next lesson, I will point out that my forum name is "Comus", not "cosmos". Besides, you don't have to use perfect English. You just have to make some kind of effort towards not raping it. I never mock people from non-English speaking countries, for example, because just by posting in English they're making an obvious effort. On the other hand, with your phrasework, choice of words, and use of IM abbreviations, I could tell you were abusing it by choice. Have a nice day. |
