| technodemon01-18-06, 03:35 PM | Would a mortician/undertaker be consider being a good Necromancer or not? If a good necromcer, what would his spells choice be? |
| Lord Gwydion01-18-06, 09:36 PM | Well, I think his choice of career would have little to do with whether the Necromancer is considered "good" or not, but being a Necromancer would tend to make you a "poor" choice for an undertaker. ;) |
| larry_the_titan01-19-06, 02:20 AM | How can a Necromancer be consider a poor Undertaker. He would never have to build a coffin, dig a grave, dress the dead body for burial, and retriving those messes cropses became a thing of the past. They would also be very helpful with clearing a battle field of all the fallen troops after the major battles. Necromancer arent evil they just arent very trusted around the standard dead body. |
| tak3thatback01-19-06, 02:38 AM | You can trust a Necromacer with dead bodies as well as you can a Tiefling with anything. Necro might be more considered chaotic, but not evil all the time. |
| Lord Gwydion01-19-06, 03:33 AM | How can a Necromancer be consider a poor Undertaker. Um, what two words make up the name of that profession? Under and taker. His job description is to bury the dead. Turning them into zombies to do his bidding means he's not putting them in their graves. So who would you take poor old granny to when she finally passes away, the undertaker who's just going to bury her in the cemetery, or the one who's going to turn her into his eternal slave? |
| Shaggy_Shaggs01-19-06, 04:20 AM | I agree that an undertaker would make a poor undead-wrangling necromancer (or vice/versa). The job requires a certain amount of propriety and respect for the dead and their surviving relatives. However, undertaker would make a great cover for an undead-wrangling necromancer, if he had a high enough Bluff check to convince the bereaved relatives that he was doing his job correctly and nothing was amiss. |
| technodemon01-19-06, 08:18 AM | Well I am Playing a Warlock more than a Necromancer and the reason I asked because of the I was thinking geting the invocation The Dead Walk, spell-like ability Animate the dead. |
