Honcheight 05-28-07, 07:33 AM	Hey! A friend of mine is DMing a campaign and wishes for me to join. I'm a late joiner, 'bout one session behind I believe, and need a character idea! He's giving 34 point-buy [a bit odd in my opinion], and my class level must be 1. He said I could have any LA, but did not mention Monster Class Levels, so I'm going to try and avoid them. So people, any ideas..?
TMX 05-28-07, 08:22 AM	Wow, 34 points... is he starting you from -8 and using a scaled point system (something like: 8 -2 9 -1 10 0 11 1 12 2 13 3 14 4 15 5 16 6 17 8 18 10 ) As for the LA/CL bit, that seems a bit odd, almost as if he doesn't understand what an LA is. What else is in the party?
queenfange 05-28-07, 09:34 AM	Yeah, your DM seems a bit confused. A level one human is in no way equivalent with a level one minotaur. The point buy is also pretty generous. Tell us a bit about the campaign world and what races & classes the other players are and we can give better feedback, as TMX said.
Honcheight 05-28-07, 05:49 PM	Actually, the PB is as follows; 8 - 0 9 - 1 10 - 2 11 - 3 12 - 4 13 - 5 14 - 6 15 - 8 16 - 10 17 - 13 18 - 16 I also forgot to mention what the party already consists of. There's a Dread Necro, a Half-Fey Ranger, an Elan Telepath, and a Dromite Egoist. The setting that I'd be joining in is the DM's own world he created, but it's post war now [the area I'd be travelling in] He gives options for any race pretty much. The being level 1 with any LA is just to give me some freedom I suppose, I being a more experienced player. Like I don't want to take it over board, keep it small, yet interesting, lol. An interesting concept [I think it'd work], would be an Aasimar Monk polymorphed into a dog. Makes for an interesting scene when a dog whoops the enemy into next thursday =P
