| happy_fuzzy05-12-07, 06:58 PM | In a new lvl 1 campaign I was thinking of playing either a human rogue/shadowdancer or rogue/assasin. Note that Im starting with rogue and I will eventually take the PrC about level 7. Any ideas which one to choose? I like both of their abilities and Rp-wise they are both nice. Any opinions? |

Poison is not particularily effective and when it is, it's really expensive. Although it has great flavor... For your character, I find it worthwhile to explore all the books you have to boost your move silently and hide checks! They'll never see your death attack coming!!! (Or your... shadowdance?) |
| DrMorganes05-14-07, 12:04 AM | Well... since Assassin has an alignment restriction of "Any evil", it's best to check with your DM before laying your plans too far in advance. Some DMs (myself included) disallow Player Characters with evil alignments. If that's not an issue, Assassins have received some love with sourcebooks like Complete Adventurer and Complete Scoundrel. CV expanded their class spell list and added a host of cool equipment. CS is just nifty. I've never been convinced that the shadowdancer's class abilities were worth the loss of rogue levels. Nearly everything a shadowdancer can do, a rogue can do with the proper preparation. |

If your DM lets you as well try and take a couple of levels in Avenging Executioner... it is only 5 lvls, but when you kill someone or something then every enemy can become shaken allowing you to sneak attack more :D. |
