| DrRufio05-22-07, 04:56 PM | Ok, so I have a charater that right now is a half orc barbarian 1/Fighter 6 that I have been plaing since lvl 3, and I am looking for something more than just taking a few more barbarian and fighter levels. At the end of last gaming session we gained a level and won't add it on until the next session. I looked as Prestige Classes in a few books and the only thing that would even remotely fit the character is a Bear Warrior, which isn't aweful, but I can't really justify why my character would start suddely turning into bears. If I started doing the bear warrior thing I could also take ranks in Warshaper, which would make the unique character I am kind of wanting now, but again I just can't justify randomly turning into bears in any sort of way that makes sense roll-playing wise. Also, just about any other PrC I look at doesn't really work because my half-orc is lacking in wis/cha/int. I'm not against looking into taking up a 3rd normal class, but again I haven't seen anything that fits. Does anyone have any ideas on other Prestige Classes that would fit better, or ways I could make the Bear Warrior/Warshaper thing work from a role playing perspective? Just for a little more background if anyone wants it (I am not completely opposed to a little rebuilding if it follows PHBII rebuilding rules): The Character (Skrep) is a chaotic neutral mercenary that is fairly reserved and fights with two bastard swords. I have all the needed TWF feats and Weapon Focus/Specialization/Exotic Wep feats, Powerattack, Cleave, and Extra Range. Stats are Str: 21 Dex: 16 Con: 18 Wis/Cha/Int: 10 by house stat rules (84 points, max 18 base before modifiers) He is maxed out for his role in battle but we do role play alot, so don't fret. |

It does require the mental stats if you want to proceed to high levels, but even the lower level maneuvers can be sweet if played well. |

No I haven't. I have all the core books, PHBII, Complete Warrior, Complete Arcane, Complete Mage, Complete Divine, Complete Adventurer, and the Spell Compendium, Expanded Psionics, and another psionics book (drawing a blank on the name) if that helps anyone. I will look into the Tome of Battle though. |
| Elemental_Elf05-24-07, 03:10 PM | What about the Tempest from Complete Adventurer? I can't remember its prereq's off the top of my head but you might need to do a little reorganizing of your feats. Still it would be a good combo for a Mercenary who focuses on his two bastard swords. |

Bear Warrior is one of the best, in my opinion - and you can easily reflavor it by making the 'bear' part any large animal, and use the bear stats for it - kinda like how the shapeshift druid uses the same stats for a variety of similar animals. My G/F used it to simulate the dragon form for a Breath of Fire-style character. Worked out pretty well, too. You might want to just look into basic fighter PrCs. Dervish is pretty good for a TWF-user. |
