I'm currently playing a Hadozee Scout with the Dungeon Specialist alternate class feature from PHB2 in an aquatic campaign. A lot of the action takes place on board our ship, and I act as the captain since I've got skill ranks up the wazoo to put into profession (sailor), knowledge (geography), and everything else you need at sea.

I'm at 5th level right now, and looking for a prestige class. There were two that caught my eye, and I can easily qualify for both. The first is the Legendary Captain from Stormwrack, and was my intial plan. Almost all of the class features focus on naval battles and life on a ship, which would specialize me in ship-to-ship battles and navigation, which would be pretty cool. The other one I thought of is the Horizon Walker, since my character is pretty much consumed with wanderlust. I have the suspicion that the HW is a better class mechanically, but the Legendary Captain would be more skilled in his area of expertise. Any suggestions?

Maybe Dread Pirate from the Complete Adventurer?

Other Suggestions:

Temple Raider of Olidimarra (Comp. Divine p.67)
Mountebank (Comp. Scoundrel p.57)
Invisible Blade (Comp. Warrior p.45-6)

Although Legendary Captain would probably be my first choice.

Interesting... Good suggestions. I'll take a look at them, although I don't have access to Complete Scoundrel. What all does the Mountebank get?

I hadn't even thought about Invisible Blade... That could be viable as well, but I'm not really combat-focused. I'll probably end up going with Legendary Captain, but I was curious if anybody here had suggestions. Thanks very much!

If you have the Track feat, you could go for Highland Stalker (C.Adv). I'm guessing, since you went Hadozee Dungeon Specialist, you're doing a lot of climbing, and that's just what the Highland Stalker does. Plus, it boosts your skirmish.
