I've had the idea to play a really devoted Cleric of Pelor and to give him some personality I was going to have him make readings from "Tome of Pelor's Might" to cast his spells and make his turning attempts. I've got a few excerpts that I've made up on my own but I was wondering if there was anyone out there with better ones or comments and opinions on this kind of thing. By the way, the voicing of these will be in a very prophetic/ Judge type voice as he's a battle cleric through and through, devoted to hunting evil.

Bless: "And though darkness pressed sore around them Pelor's might filled them and gave them the courage to stand against it and cleave through their ranks to the dark heart of that army. Chapter 18, Verses 11 and 12"

Healing Spells: "And Pelor in His mercy spared them and gifted them life against the most grievous of wounds. Chapter 11, Verse 37"

"Though the demon rent and tore at his flesh he called upon Pelor and was healed, the demon's power availing him nought against the purity of light. Chapter 13, Verse 24"

"Alone they held the army at bay for Pelor willed it so and time and again His power flowed through them to steady their feet and strengthen their arms in battle. Chapter 13, Verse 18"

Protection From Evil: "Just as darkness seemed to close in Pelor's light shone from within their pure hearts to create a barrier against the darkness. Their dark powers helpless in the face of His purity. Chapter 4, Verse 8"

Restoration: "And He said, let your touch bathe the pure of heart in my power, that they may be cleansed of evil and malady and live in peace. Chapter 11, Verse 35"

Spiritual Weapon: "My power will be a shield and a sword unto you, protecting thee from the evil that wouldst creep and surround, exposing their plans and laying to waste their machinations. Chapter 17, Verse 4"

Daylight: "In blackest day, in darkest night, let no evil escape your sight. Let those who worship Evil's might, beware my power, Pelors Light! Chapter 17, Vese 16" (Yes I know it's a green lantern reference, but it fits )

Prayer: "Call upon me in your time of need and I shall pour out onto the pure my blessings and smite the evil with a curse so that they weep with the knowledge of their weakness. Chapter 16, Verse 10"

Zone of truth: "Beware the silver tongue, for it may hide a dagger. Countenance not the lier, the cheat but instead let your voice ring true in all that you do. Chapter 2, Verse 26"

Turning Attmepts: "And Pelor looked upon the evil and was angry and so in His anger he didst smite them and break the necromancy that quickened them. Chapter 7, Verse 4"

"Begone Evil, for you are foul in his sight and he shall suffer you to touch no innocent so long as his power shines upon this world. Chapter 7, Verse 15"

"Pelor asks that all who are pure of heart and strength stand before the darkness and in return he will smite them to the left and to the right and break a path through thine enemies. Chapter 5, Verse 10"

There's a few examples, I'm hoping to come up with three or four for every spell that he will use commonly and I was just wondering what people's opinions were or if anyone had any good additions to the list?

I love it!

"Book of Armaments, Page 3, Verse 7: Draw thee the pin from the Holy Handgrenade, and count ye to three. To four thou shalt not count, nor to one or two unless thou then procedeth to three. Five is right out. Then shall ye chuck the Holy Hand Grenade at thine enemy who, having been naughty in mine sight, shall snuff it."
