| Addrreess04-12-06, 04:20 PM | I recently started a campagin where 10 min. into the game my cleric became seperated from the rest of the party. He is now trapped on a second story room with one window and one door that, incendently, has a acid spitting felldrake on the other side trying to smash it in. Any suggestions? |

He is now trapped on a second story room with one window and one door that, incendently, has a acid spitting felldrake on the other side trying to smash it in. Any suggestions? Escape via the window using the rope you MUST have equiped with? Baricade the door and shout for help? Pray for spells (resist energy (acid) type spells), wrench the door open, let the felldrake plunge into the room, and make a run for it? |
| metamind04-12-06, 05:14 PM | I would like to know how you got in this situation, I'd bet there's a pretty good story behind it. |
| Aegeu04-12-06, 07:17 PM | Dive out the window and pray you have either enough health to soak up the damage or the luck to get a good tumble check. It can't be that far to the ground, can it? :P |

| Blazinghand04-15-06, 03:17 PM | Although the powers they gain from religion are represented in their spells and channeling of positive and negative energy, clerics sometimes need more than that to solve their problems. When it comes down to it, it would make most sense for your cleric, in this situation, to sit down and pray. If you have a candle, light it. If you have a silver holy symbol, pull it out. If you have a portable altar, bust that thing out too. Pray your deity for a miracle (not a Miracle, though), that you may continue to serve him in this mortal coil. If you're a sufficiently powerful worshipper and servant of your deity, your prayers won't go unanswered. This is, of course, assuming that all other methods of escape are impossible. The window looks like a viable exit, if you have the equipment. What is your situation, spell-wise? Do you have lots of Hp? |
| TheChilliGod04-15-06, 03:22 PM | Is this possibly an illusion, try to disbeleive you're in this deep? Illusions don't bust down doors, and burn you with acid. And if they do, then you're being effected by something higher level than a 3rd lvl spell. Which means that the cleric must be about 4th lvl, or the DM is really sadistic. If the former is correct, jump out the window. It's only the second floor, so you'd have to take 2d6 damage at the worst, and being 4th lvl, you'd survive to run away like a little girl. Sure, it required a bit of metagame thinking to say that, but wouldn't you jump out a window even if you didn't know you were 4th lvl? |
| Argon_Asimov04-15-06, 05:08 PM | A second story window is what? ten? twelve feet off the ground? If you jump down intentionally (rather than falling or being pushed) you're going to take 1d6 non-lethal and 1d6 lethal tops. A DC15 jump check would reduce that to only 1d6 non-lethal. What is the problem here? |
