| GnomFoo08-06-04, 02:08 AM | Hey, I was wondering--and if has been asked before, please point the way, the search engine kept timing out on me for some reason-- if it would be unreasonable for me to ask my DM if Moradin could have the War domain? In the 3.5 PHB, it even says "He governs the arts and sciences of the dwarves: smithing, metalworking, egineering and WAR." Was wondering what yall thought about that. Any comments as to why/why not they shouldnt would be helpful. Thanks! :D :D |
| CzarGarrett08-06-04, 08:07 AM | I would not be unreasonable to ask. Something like that, it rarely is unreasonable. As to my ruling: Unless there were other Dwarven Gods available, I'd probably allow it, although I'd highly recommend going for a standard War God instead. |
| Ehlana08-06-04, 10:31 AM | Yeah, it never made sense to me that Moradin didn't have access to the war domain. In my campagin that I'm starting I'm giving it to him, but taking away the protection domain. Although I've also considered giving him Law/Protection/Earth/War. Dwarves kinda seem more LN then LG to me. |
| quaiven08-06-04, 11:00 AM | Isn't Clangadin (sp?) the dwarven god of war? |
| masterofmayhem08-06-04, 11:28 AM | Originally posted by quaiven Isn't Clangadin (sp?) the dwarven god of war? Yup. I was about to say that, but you beat me to it (by half an hour). ;) Anyway, I think he's technically the dwarven god of battle, but that's the same thing. I think it's Clangeddin. Or Clangeddon. It's hard to remember; they change their names a lot. |

| Nick Soapdish08-06-04, 04:22 PM | Makes more sense to me than Corellon getting the War domain - at least if you're just playing with the gods in the PHB. I'm playing a dwarven cleric myself and I brought it up with my DM. He didn't sound really enthused about the idea so I just took my first level as fighter instead and took Weapon Focus (warhammer) as one of my feats. It's less preferable to getting the feat for free with my cleric levels, but having all martial weapon proficiencies is kinda handy. It just feels wrong to have a dwarf that isn't proficient in axe. |
| primemover00308-06-04, 04:42 PM | If you chose the Axe you should definitely choose Clangeddin over Moradin. |
| danielinthewolvesden08-06-04, 05:27 PM | And, IMHO the "battle-axe" referred to includes the War-axe. |
