His current stats (without modifications from any of his magic items he has) are: STR: 17 DEX: 14 CON: 18 INT: 12 WIS: 18 CHA: 14 Ever since I made the character, I have been preparing him to take on the Pious Templar PrC eventually- my current party is small. There are three PCs- a level 8 human bard, a level 5 dromite psion, and myself. The bard isn't planning on taking any really physical multiclasses, so he won't be able to take a lot of hits or deal a lot of heavy damage to enemies. Obviously, the psion isn't going to be rushing into the front lines, either. Since our DM is okay with the Pious Templar being included as a PrC, I figured I would take it in order to make a more rounded character capable of withstanding heavier combat. However, I'm being told by some friends I should take a prestige class that focuses more on spellcasting. So now I'm unsure. Has anyone ever played with/as a Pious Templar? Are they okay in combat, or should I take another class altogether? Should I focus more on my spellcasting, or try and fill our campaign party's need for a warrior-type character? |

Ideas so far: Sacred Fist (I doubt you have the right feats), Warmage (I doubt you have the right domain), Hospitaler (nonchaotic only)... Well, pure cleric isn't really bad either. It is one of the best core classes in the game, after all. Just make sure you prepare a lot of boost spells like divine favor or righteous might. |
