Cohort Level Adjustment [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-06-05, 05:24 PM I'm curious, monsters whose level adjustments have (cohort) in them, is you use one of those monsters as a PC, is the LA the same?

Example:
In the MM3, if I remember correctly, the Petal has a level adjustment of +2 (cohort) and 1 hit die. If you used one as a PC it would still be ECL 3, right?

03-06-05, 05:32 PM It would, or, because it has 1 HD, you could make it ECL 2 and have the hit dice overridden by the one from its first class level. Go petals!
