Here's some more questions =). Sorry

*Attack Opportunity? I am a little confused on this rule. So if a monster is right next to me in another square, I get a free attack? This attack doesn't count against me either right? It's like a bonus attack? Are there exceptions to this?

*Spells and AC? If I cast a spell, let's say magic missle. Do I still need to do an AC roll to hit? Do I do a saving throw? Or a DC roll?

*Hit Points? So when your HP goes below zero you become disabled. Then the PHB says you can still attack? Your HP goes into the negatives? Does it drop negative 1 point per round automatically or only when attacked? Can I still do standard move when disabled? As if to run out of combat to save my life =).

Thanks, =)

Ok, first of all to make an AoO you must meet certain criteria to gain the extra hit. The enemy can not just be standing right next to you, they are on their guard and would not give you the chance to make an attack like that. An Attack of opportunity is meant to display how if you (or the enemy) is distracted in combat they leave them selves open to more attacks. Here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/attacksOfOpportunity.htm) is a list and further explanation on AoO

Second spells, there are different types of spells that will need different types of rolls to see if you are successful. Most of that info can be derived from the spell description.
For instance Magic Missile:
Evocation [Force]
Level: Sor/Wiz 1
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Targets: Up to five creatures, no two of which can be more than 15 ft. apart
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes

A missile of magical energy darts forth from your fingertip and strikes its target, dealing 1d4+1 points of force damage.

The missile strikes unerringly, even if the target is in melee combat or has less than total cover or total concealment. Specific parts of a creature can’t be singled out. Inanimate objects are not damaged by the spell.

For every two caster levels beyond 1st, you gain an additional missile—two at 3rd level, three at 5th, four at 7th, and the maximum of five missiles at 9th level or higher. If you shoot multiple missiles, you can have them strike a single creature or several creatures. A single missile can strike only one creature. You must designate targets before you check for spell resistance or roll damage

So since this spell hits unerringly you do not need to roll for AC, however you must roll a caster level check to see if you overcome spell resistance. More here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicOverview/castingSpells.htm)

Third, HP. If you are hit for Damage that exceeds your HP then you are disabled or bleeding. When you are at 0 you are disabled, when this happens at your next initiative you have one standard action. You can choose to attack or flee, since a standard action can be used as a move action. Once you take that action you take a point of damage putting you into negatives or dying. If you are dying or disabled then you cannot take anymore actions even on your turn; you will however take one point of damage until you are stabilized or healed. This means that one of the other PCs will have to come to your aid in battle. Here is more info on that. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/injuryandDeath.htm#lossOfHitPoints)

I hope that this is helpful and not tomuch info at once. Good Gaming!

*Attack Opportunity? I am a little confused on this rule. So if a monster is right next to me in another square, I get a free attack? This attack doesn't count against me either right? It's like a bonus attack? Are there exceptions to this?AoO (Attacks of Opportunity) happen when a creature preforms an act that provokes in a threatened square. A 'threatened square' is a square into which you can make an armed melee attack. Actions that provoke include: Casting a spell, moving out of the square, making a ranged attack, drinking a potion, etc... The tables here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/actionsInCombat.htm) can help with that.

*Spells and AC? If I cast a spell, let's say magic missle. Do I still need to do an AC roll to hit? Do I do a saving throw? Or a DC roll? For your example, magic missile, no you do not need to roll an attack roll. It says specifically in the spell description that it hits automatically. You need to roll an attack roll when it says that you need to make a 'touch attack' or 'ranged touch attack' or anything similar. The caster is not the one who rolls saving throws, those are rolled by the ones affected by the spell. Each spell description will say whether or not it allows a saving throw.

*Hit Points? So when your HP goes below zero you become disabled. Then the PHB says you can still attack? Your HP goes into the negatives? Does it drop negative 1 point per round automatically or only when attacked? Can I still do standard move when disabled? As if to run out of combat to save my life =).Your are 'disabled' at 0 hp, you are dying and unconscious at -1 to -9 hp. Every round you have a 10% chance to stabilize (stop losing hp), if you don't you lose 1 hp until you are dead.

When you become disabled and knocked out, can monsters still attack you? I am assuming yes? Does the HP rules apply to the monsters as well???

Thanks,

While at negative hp, you are laying there unconscious. Better hope your party heals you or gets you out of there. A monster will do whatever it wants with an unconscious creature.

hp rules apply to almost all creatures. Exception: undead are destroyed when they hit 0 hp.
