| Tylerhanlon08-11-06, 05:44 PM | I'm playing as a NE Half Orc Fighter10/Cleric4. I plan to continue as a cleric untill I'm a Fighter10/Cleric10 and then I'm going to take some prestige levels in Blackguard. Now in my friends campange right now I'm the only one playing and I wish to rule over a fair sized area. Right now I'm in a fairly peacefull large city. So far I have become somewhat good friends with the Mayor. I'm also pretty well known as a nice guy and lots of people trust me. I'm rich too because I sell goblin slaves to other people. Also the mayor isn't some sort of adventurer class. He's an aristocat. So now I have 2 things to ask about. 1. Which is a better plan? a) Waiting untill the next election and run in it. b) Getting the mayor to really trust me and then run this town threw him.(bribing other officals also) or c) Sending my level 5 loyal goblin rogue to another large city, have him spread rumors of the second city getting ready to attack the first city then asking/suggesting the mayor allows me to run the city as I'm an experianced warrior while we are in the state of crisis. Then when I get into power I change laws so that I stay in power and create a large army (any able man) and start taking smaller towns and build up my power? And the second part is. What other monsters are good in slavery? |
| Toloran08-11-06, 07:08 PM | None of the above, all those plans sound too Lawful Evil to me (instead of Neutral Evil). |
| Stormbrand08-11-06, 07:26 PM | 1 - C works best. 2 - Goblins are best. Orcs could work in small numbers, although being half-orc yourself more people would get concerned. Any beast that can be trained. Otherwise it just depends on the buyer. Ogres are great for some but not for the great wide market. You could sell an ogre to a town or city for heavy labour (thus corrupting the society as well) but most people could not keep the thing. And by the way, why go for cleric first? Why not take Blackguard first? They get nearly as much spells and all the extra powers. Is it just magical flexibility? |
| Tylerhanlon08-11-06, 08:50 PM | Yes I became a cleric first because I wanted magical flexibility |

What other monsters are good in slavery? First learn to spell so the voters/civilians don't support the wrong guy after being confused by your flags and banners.... then send your Goblin rogue as an emissary to the nearest small town and have him tell the mayor there that you have seized power and plan to annex his town into yours. If he refuses you fully intend to strike down all those that oppose you but you wish for a peaceful solution, then when he comes to meet you have your goblin poison your "friend the mayor" with either some lethal poison or a sleeping drug and then do your thing until you have enough towns under your belt to rebel againt your friend if you were only putting him to sleep or mount an offensive against a larger city if you killed him. |
| Thubby08-12-06, 12:46 AM | take 1 more level in clr, then start a covert undead army, just cast the spell on newly dead corpse, let it be buried, repeat during a "plague" (dont you just love the contagion spell). once your out of fresh meat, or close enough to it, attack!!! crush surrounding villages to fuel your glorious war machine!!! bwahahahaha. you can take this plan one step farther by going to smal villages across the entire continent (or however much land you want to conquer) and sabatoge villages simulary. as a cleric, you can simply say you go where you must to relieve suffering(you are going to be sending the equivilant of tifoid into the masses) and simply claim to be unable to stop the plague while your slowly exterminating the town of yours, have your assassin kill all regional figure heads, or anyone with a significant army in subtle ways, accident here, heart attack there, you know. so when you make teh big move, they will be disorganized and unprotected. perfect slave = undead of course if i have to chose one of the plans, id go with number 1, rumor mills are far too fragile for my taste, and you can always run for mayor next year. |
