| Winternova07-23-04, 12:34 PM | Yeah, that name kicks the crap out of all the Grogs and Uggs and Urrs out there. Reminds me of an old classmate who could never EVER correctly say 'buckfutter.' |
| Thorak07-23-04, 01:42 PM | I'm personally fond of the monosyllables that sound like something gross. Guk, Vork, etc. |
| Harmor07-23-04, 02:20 PM | I liked some of the named my GM used for orcs like: Mor-tar Puk Qar Lor Oh...my GM is into Star Trek apprently... :-P |

| fruits and vegetables07-23-04, 07:34 PM | Harmor, nothing wrong with star trek.:) Sounds like a brilliant man you know. also, I have had a DM who refers to all his brutes (especially ogre-ish types) with hard G sounds. To top him on the gutteral name game i played a half-orc barbarian in a game who's name was.... Grim-gar-garius-gregorius. yeah. |
| Goreg Skullcrusher07-23-04, 09:10 PM | See name. |
| Aki Warren07-23-04, 10:35 PM | Ashnak of the Fighting Agauku! Ashnak ashnak ashnak Yo the Orc Marines! |

| CeresOfTerra07-23-04, 10:52 PM | I DMed for Gortog, a half-orc barbarian who became a bard. :twitch: If I play a barbarian, I'm probably going to name him Yu. "Yu will kill you!!" |
| Nick Soapdish07-23-04, 11:34 PM | Grignak. He was sort of an elite warrior (barbarian/fighter) of the tribe and the champion. He fought the PCs in semi-honorable combat while the rest of the orcs chanted his name. :D |
| memberZ07-23-04, 11:46 PM | My current half-orc : Gruntlow Maglii Donglit the monk battle cry "Me mash" |

| Zolgar07-24-04, 12:52 AM | "Garr, world's smartest orc" |
| Sphyre07-24-04, 02:31 AM | Scrubu!! Zug Zug! Ready to work! I'd go with Scrubu as a name. That just kicks. And talk with a warcraft voice (Which I do pretty damn well close to perfect too) :P |
| bitnine07-24-04, 02:42 AM | I had one Tellenreikos Mordok, half-orc LN soldier and Tribal Protector of a half-orc grouping that had broken away and rejected the rampaging ways of the pureblooded raiders of his kingdom. |

| fruits and vegetables07-24-04, 06:20 PM | i need some assistance. What is the lifespan of orcs? When are they midlle aged, old, and venerable. I need to know for Fumbuk. |
| Duvanok07-24-04, 07:36 PM | Had a player name his half-orc Brb Thornoch. Unfortunatly Thornoch's con was drained by Gulthias while exploring Nightfang Spire. To this day the two of them rule over a fairly large section of my homebrew campaign world. |

| SilverFoxKnows07-26-04, 10:01 PM | named Kelta. He works for a full Orc named Miter. I tried to stay away from the really Klingon sounding names;) Frank |
| Kitt-su07-26-04, 11:15 PM | Have your half-orc barbarian be so stupid that the party decides to name him... and pray that they call you Zombie Cat. :b: |
| DeathMagus07-27-04, 03:03 PM | Originally posted by Zolgar "Garr, world's smartest orc" I love Arcanum! I still don't think any game can touch its depth. |

Heh, enough of that, war3 sucked... but it was a great place to find names out of random orc words. In a perfect orc voice: "Name's Complete. Work Complete." World's most dangerous covert Orc rogue. And he gets all the honeys too. Even after the cha penalty, it's 16 cha :P |
| Thermanshs07-27-04, 08:21 PM | One of my best inspired orc leaders is Tobo Also....why most orcish names end in a -k or a -g ? |
| schulerta07-27-04, 08:25 PM | For me, they always reminded me of Klingons. |
| Platinum Mongoose07-27-04, 10:18 PM | Og, Ogg, Oggg: Same player, 3 different games. |
| JoshRodriguez07-28-04, 01:24 PM | I've played orcs before. They tend to have names like Buddy, Steve, Hank, or Higglesby. |
| fruits and vegetables07-28-04, 03:12 PM | A friend is playing a half-orc in the same game as Fumbuk. His character's name is Bob Roberts. That's is cheesily common.:) someone mentioned klingons, that's a little funny because i am playing him like Worf. He is a neutral aligned Orc. His camp got killed by gnomes (after several raids by them first i am sure), he was a baby, they took him and raised him. He has his racial instincts and rituals that he does not bury and tries to understand better. The same time he balances that with behaving in a civilized world. Anyway, That is what i came up with when the DM said the group can not be evil. He is very Worf like. |
| Blackswordsman07-28-04, 06:07 PM | i had a half orc barbarian/rouge who ended around level 17. Named him Xia Feng. Now i got the running gag of him being a pokemon. He used the full blade back in 3.0 I choose you Pikachu! I choose you Xia Feng! I enjoy it. Stop judging me. |
| MarkB07-28-04, 06:56 PM | My current Half-Orc paladin is named Grudnuk. He rides a Large Dire Weasel special mount called Scruffles. The backup character I am considering springing on the party if ever I'm feeling nasty is a Half-Orc Bard whose Perform style is 'slapstick comedy'. He's called Krusky the Klown. |
| Sword soul07-28-04, 07:03 PM | grognak (Orcky) Leafblatwind a half-orc half-elf raised by gnomes fathered by a blind and very lusty elf raider,...anyway he's butt-ugly and very intelligent it was a long car ride |
| Xarrith07-28-04, 07:20 PM | Originally posted by lordconservative Jorvak Oddly enough, I played a half-orc barb named Jorak. Pretty close, no? |
| Riplox07-28-04, 07:25 PM | Foregrog Wark'Noff |

| The GOP Dragon07-29-04, 12:33 AM | Originally posted by fruits and vegetables i need some assistance. What is the lifespan of orcs? When are they midlle aged, old, and venerable. I need to know for Fumbuk. Well, if you still need the answer, I think that the SRD has it. My PHB is awhol, but if I can find it I will tell you. P.S. I belive that it is in chapters threee or four in the PHB. If you have one check around there. |
| fruits and vegetables07-29-04, 12:48 AM | thanks, i have not found it out, i will look. |
| The GOP Dragon07-29-04, 01:55 PM | Wait I found my PHB. Adulthood: 14 years old. Middle Age: 30 Old: 45 Vererable: 60 Maximum Age: +2d10 years. And am I right in guessing that his class is Barbarian. If so and you want to randomly choose his age, then add 14 + 1d4. |
| PhaedrusXY07-29-04, 04:01 PM | One guy is playing a half-orc barbarian in my game who's name is Mud Bloodbringer. I thought it was a hilarious and great name. His Int and Cha are both 6, and he speaks with grunts and yells. :D |
| Lord Lorac Silvanos07-29-04, 04:18 PM | Originally posted by The GOP Dragon Wait I found my PHB. Adulthood: 14 years old. Middle Age: 30 Old: 45 Vererable: 60 Maximum Age: +2d10 years. I don't think Orcs' lifespans are mentioned anywhere in the core books. Races of Renown by Green Ronin Publishing suggested this for Orcs: Adulthood: 13 Middle Age: 25 Old: 35 Vererable: 50 Maximum Age: +2d8 years. |
| The GOP Dragon07-29-04, 04:26 PM | Ah Ok. I had forgotten about that. |
| Big_Nose07-30-04, 11:19 AM | One of my friends had a Half-Orc with the name Ugly. He tended to insult others very easily: "What your name?" "Why, I'm _____. And you?" "Name Ugly" Tons of fun. |

| Ehlana07-30-04, 02:46 PM | I'm contemplating naming the king that's united the ork tribes Kong. But introducing King Kong of the Orks might not be a good idea. |
| Twisted Puppy07-30-04, 02:53 PM | When I saw the thread title, I couldn't help but imagine it being announced by Jim Rome. |
| gnomeman07-30-04, 11:04 PM | The greatest of the orc and half-orcs among me and mine have been named Bloog, and though they're ussually refered to as meat sheild or guy with really big axe |
| fruits and vegetables07-31-04, 01:22 AM | king kong....that's awesome who is jim rome? |
| Cherrn07-31-04, 10:58 AM | My current Greyhawk character is a halforc Ranger/Orc Scout named Korrhaine :) |
| Lhiannon Sidhe08-01-04, 04:56 AM | Never played a half-orc myself, but I've had them in my characters' parties. Arok Duun, Half-Orc Fighter. Apparently he gets his good looks from his father. Plug, Half-Orc Bard. Author of the the hit song "Horse on a Boat" Penny Johnson, Half-Orc Bard. Her mother was raped by orcs during an attack on the city. Her mother's husband, a professer at the local university raised Penny as his own daughter. Dalamar Terrence, Half-Orc Paladin. Penny's cousin, unfortunatly, he was dumb as a sack of bricks and was later conned into selling druids to dragons as a source of food. |
| Ao08-01-04, 11:32 PM | Originally posted by I killed Maedras Trap-springer. Do half-orcs have any other use? Maedras Ramyr could never be caught unaware, let alone killed by the likes of you, Aamra-di. I should think that the lords of fallen Shador would take greater care with their words. Godless as you are, I might even be tempted to pray, for who else but merciful deities will save you if the pale wizard should see your post? And to answer your question. I know all of the uses for half-orcs, and though they are few, you may have need of at least one of their ilk sooner than you expect. |
| taltamir08-02-04, 12:20 AM | i remember toying with the idea of legally changing my real name to Uug.... by toying with it i mean tell it to people with a straight face but not actually plan on doing it... there is really nothing wrong with such a simple nice name XD... |
| buzzbomber08-02-04, 02:56 AM | Well, In a game I was DMing, my brother played a half-orc Grock. He was killed, so his next half-orc was Grock II, but his rolls made him "Helpless" so he said he became a farmer and rolled up Grock III. EDIT: And in responce to the orc ageings Orcs adulthood=13 Middleage=25 Old=37 Venerable 50 These found out using hte formula Orc=HalfOrc - (Human - HalfOrc) |
| Grompa08-02-04, 03:45 AM | I'm calling my WIP orc 'Grompa Ooman Stompa' |
| fruits and vegetables08-02-04, 03:48 AM | Originally posted by buzzbomber ...so his next half-orc was Grock II, but his rolls made him "Helpless" so he said he became a farmer and rolled up Grock III. Very similar, a buddy will roll up a character and if dissatisfied will claim the character died at birth and reroll a new character....if the DM allows anyway. |

According to my proxy, the only use Zud'll have now is standing in for cigar store Indians. Anyhoo, just trying to get your attention with the Maedras bit. Let's see, the loss of a hand, the destruction of my entire race, undying servitude to my sworn enemy ... you'd think I'd have one li'l jab coming to me. :D |
