| Jannix11-01-06, 01:48 PM | Greetings everyone, I wanted to respectfully ask for help with a character build. The concept is the cliche "wandering, enigmatic mystic-warrior" I searched through the "gish" threads and found some interesting builds but I don't know if they exactly fit the concept. Here is the closest one that I found. ( I had copied it into my notepad so I am sorry that I can't give credit where credit is due) "Don't Call Me Li Mu Bai" or "Wuxia!" Fighter 2/Wu Jen 4/Spellsword 5/Shou Disciple 3/Eldritch Knight 6 Caster level 12, BAB +18, cool stuff like martial flurry (light) and channel spell. Go for light weapons (like, say... a straightsword? Treat as rapier.) Fighter 2/Wu Jen 3/Spellsword 5/Eldritch Knight 10 Now, these seem like good builds but I was wondering if I should do something slightly different such as utilizing the monk class with the "whirling steel strike" found in the Eberron book. Something with Monk, sorcerer, and the feat ascetic mage? Plus, if the above class builds are the ideal way to go...what feats should go along with them? Any help with a build would be appreciated including classes, prestige classes and feats. The character will begin at level 10 and the setting is Forgotten Realms. Thank you very much, Jannix ***edited to add*** Sorry, I am new to the boards and didn't realize there was a Character Optimization thread. I will post this over there. |

I can see some limited Transmutation magic, but not really anything else. I would remove the Caster Levels (Wu Jen, Eldritch Knight, etc...) and stick to Monk, Fighter, and Shou Disciple levels. Btw, Shou Disciple is one of the best PrC's in Forgotten Realms, in my opinion. If you MUST go for a Monk/Mage mix, I would suggest the PrC from Complete Arcane, which I believe is called Arcane Fist. (Don't hold me to that, though.) |
