Hay, I'm in class away from my books atm, but I need to have a char built by 11:54. Could some one tell me the amount of Gp a char can start with at lvl 6. And the cost for +1 or +2 weapons and armor would be great too, but I might be able to find that on the SRD.

13,000gp

+1 weapon is 2,000gp
+2 weapon is 8,000gp
+1 armor is 1,000gp
+2 armor is 4,000gp
(+3 armor is 9,000gp)

It helps to specify a timezone if something needs to be done by a time. The time stamp on both those posts shows roughly 5pm for me.

I'd stay away from +1 weaponry. The +1 to damage isn't worth the cost. Just get masterwork. MW is +300gp for weapons, +150gp for armor)

Try this instead:

For a melee character:
MW weapon(s)
+2 armor (4000gp + MW armor cost)
+1 shield (1000gp + MW armor cost)
+1 ring of protection (2000gp)
+2 belt of strength (4000gp)
total: +4 AC, +1 AB, +1 damage. If an enemy needs to roll a 13 to hit you, the 4 AC will up that to 17 and cut the number of hits you take in half. The +1 AB from strength ain't too bad either. Assuming you take the high AC/AB approach, and your enemies don't, grab combat expertise to force the 17 into a 20 (for example). Ya, the -3 in this example would also make things worse for you. But even if you needed to roll a 16 to hit and this becomes a 19, you'll still be hitting twice as often as your target. Compare that to 4/3 as often before combat expertise. OTOH if you go low AB/AC (e.g., rogue) and your target doesn't, C.E. will make things worse for you and better for him.

For a ranged character:
boots of speed (1 round of haste 10/day, free action activation, 12000gp)
MW composite bow (400gp plus 100gp per point of strength bonus)
mundane armor (<=200gp, match it up with your dex bonus)

Grab rapid shot and pop off 4 attacks every round. 3 of them will have a good AB, which is what really makes it nice. And don't forget you also get +1 AB & +1 AC from the haste.

It becomes worth it the second you face a creature with DR/magic :)
