| Nature-boy07-21-04, 04:07 PM | My friends and I were dueling our characters just for fun. The halfling passed a sling bullet to his comrade 10 or 15 ft. Can't remember. Should a check be made for this to catch? I don't think so, but what if the PC had a particularly low Dex? Like an 8. |

| mercurial6707-22-04, 05:18 PM | Unfortunately, I would say it would require a ranged touch attack. Why do I suggest this? The character is dodging and weaving to avoid getting hit by everyone else. That will make it a bit more difficult to get it right to the person. If they want to stand still so you can get it to them (drop dex to 0 effectively) it will make it just as easy for others to hit them as well. To catch the item, probably DC 10 sleight of hand check(sleight of hand comes closest) . If they weren't in combat, they could just take 10 to catch it. It would take a standard action with a DC 10 (although I think a move action makes more sense) OR if they want to do it as a free action, they take -20 to their check. Making it sleight of hand would also means it provokes unless they also make a concentration check. If you want to really complicate things, if they are missed, they can still try to catch, but the DC goes up by 1 for every 1 the touch attack missed by. |
