| The_Yellow_Dart_Swinger07-11-04, 12:10 PM | Well, I messed up. You see, my character got knocked down to 0 last time against a caster. I decided to attack the caster and kill him since if I didn't, the caster would have casted a magic missle on me and dropped me anyways. So I did and I bled to death. Game came to a close after all the dead were buried. I went home crawled in to bed and was thinking of stats for my next character, we use a 28 point build. I then relized, that somehow, I had made my other character with only 26 points! I know I would have put those two points in to Con, which would have given me 5 more Hp, and I wouldn't have dropped. My question for all you out their. If YOU were DM would you make it somehow where my character didn't die? Or would you say better luck next time, watch those points? I'm just more curious than anything, because I'm already well into making my next character who I won't mess up with the points. EDIT: Also even later I relized I had a smokestick on me, and could have used that to escape. But oh well. |

For better or worse it stands, i'm not a fan of rewriting characters after they have been played. As for that particular case, well i'm even less of a fan of rewriting history... so sorry but you'd still be dead. |
| Eagle Vision07-13-04, 04:23 AM | well, if i was the DM I would let you add the 2 points to your new char, as a sort of recompense. Of course, rewriting the history is kinda lame . Just my two coppers. |

| Callista07-13-04, 11:42 AM | Is Resurrection an option? It doesn't look like your party is high enough to actually have the spell, but perhaps they'd be able to pay for a cleric to cast it. Or maybe they have a patron who will pay for it? What about your character's family--are they rich? At any rate, if you've got a new char already half-done, then why not ask the DM if it's possible to resurrect the character, then say that, since he's had such a close brush with death, he wants to spend some time just taking it easy and thinking about things. Or if he's not that type, maybe spend time with his family... whatever. That way, it's possible to bring that character back on a later campaign. |
