how can you ask your God for help against the massive hordes when hes the one RUNNING the massive hordes!?!?!?

Being a Epic Divine Agent surely gets me the odd favour or two. so when i ask him for some dragons to aid us in this fight, i get told that hes not interested in helping me out!?

how can the DM be my God and still be the enemy? do i have ANY say in what happens? it seems like im being dissed, because my DM doesnt know who Lendys is.
and im sure that cloning Red Dragons and flooding the material plane with them is somewhat un-balancing.

So let me get this strait.

You are an epic level (21+) Divine agent (not fimiliar with class but sound strait forward). Your god is the very same god who is flooding the material plane with red dragons. Seems to me you should be helping your god, So start getting some red dragons, or open up a portal somewhere.

Could you give me more info on what you are doing in your quest? Im curiose about how you DM laid this one out.

I'm pretty sure he's not saying that the god he's requesting help from is the god he's fighting. I think what he's saying is that it's difficult to request help from his god to fight another god when both gods are controlled by the same person (the DM).

no my DM is flooding the material plane. hes also the guy running my God (as all DM's do).

Gith invasion, modded to include Red Dragon Clones (instead of the queens staff etc...). now heres where my eyes popped:

of the hundreds of Red Dragon Clones, theres 5 that are the originals. these guys are colossal with plate barding. the plate barding has 4 points on it where a Gith rides (4 gith each big red) controling a beam weapon each (from a psionic crystal staff wand). the dragon also has embedded in its flesh + barding small crystals that produce a AMF whenever it wants :(

yep hes made this a challenge. im a Druid 25/Warshaper 5/ Divine agent 2/ Human Paragon 3. ive got a Shinnara Eldar Druid/half silver dragon and a 16/16 monk/psion on my side. forget the mission, im wondering how can i ask my God for help???
or how about i rephrase this:
as my DM how would you grant the players divine help? without ruining the game?

Ah my mistake.

Your "God", or DM, could grant you the ability to see what dragon are the originals, or some of them. Then you could kill those, eliminating the clones(im assuming its an illusion? correct me if im wrong).

Other than that....Give you a fighting force of your own? Kill off some random dragons..some clones soem not?

hes using our real life example of Cloning, not the spell. so all these dragons are real, just not quite as powerful as the real thing.

thats where Lendys comes in: Lendys - The balancer, weigher of lives, dragon god of balance and justice... lendys meets out justice during a dragon life, unlike chronepsis who judges a dragon after its death...

see im pretty sure hed be gutted with what the Gith have done with these Big Reds, hence why im aksing him for help.

Is it just your character against all these red dragon clones, or is there a party? If there's a party, how big is it?

Maybe the DM thinks the PCs should be able to handle this encounter without any, or very little, divine intervention.

read back on my party members.

im pretty sure we need help. all ive mentioned is the dragons.
theres also : 1000 Gith Ships ( they carry about 200 gith warriors/warlocks each) and theres about 100,000 troops on the ground (giths, slaves, giants etc...)

after destroying one army that had laid seige to a castle we went in the direction the main battle force went, and found them  .

the psion can deal to the dragon pretty well, and the Shinnara druid can cast spells like a freekin wand of the gods. so (much like the last battle) i'll be dealing with the troops and ground forces while the other two deal to the dragons. at least that was the plan until we saw there new shiny crystals etc...

you think he can gift me with an army? or a bunch of Dragons? or maybe a artifact? what are the usual "godly" gifts granted in times of crisis? (1st time RPGing dealing with Gods)

Oh, I saw those before, but thought they were cohorts for some reason.

Sounds like maybe your DM thought the last encounter was too easy, and now he's making it harder. I wouldn't count on getting anything from a deity, unless the battle goes very badly for the PCs.

yea it was too easy. a cold snap killed 80,000 soldiers and "Control Winds/Weather" finished the job. thing is we surprised them and it was a seige army left to mop up, so they were a very different army (no psionic crystals, no dragons with plate barding). got 2 weeks to nut it out so fingers crossed.

im thinkin bout bringing thousands of elementals over to fight them all, gotta love Elemental Weird shape esp since AMF wont work on them.

At mega-epic things are likely different, but when I DM I have from time to time granted divine favour to a PC.

There are some unwritten rules to this though. Gods generally won't lift a finger to help you unless you are already a worshipper, and a pretty devout one at that. You don't have to be an actual Cleric, but you do have to rp your faith well.

As to the sort of things a god will do to help a mortal, it is largely situation dependent. If I were playing Lendys, then I would not dish out an artifact, but I may send a Celestial Great Wyrm Gold/Silver Dragon Cleric/Paladin to the Prime Material to look into the matter.

Now I understand - welcome to D&D. The DM's job is indeed a hard one as he has to play 'everybody else'. However, it is not about players vs. DM, his job is to set the challenges and arrange both allies and enemies and bystanders. Sure you can ask your god for help - the DM might just be waiting for you to ask the right questions in order to get the right answers. He has the enemy all set up, now it is up to you - the stars of the movie - to make the right breaks.

First of all you are a divine agent which means, yes you are entitled to a couple of favors. However, gods usually have limits by nature and other gods and goddesses on what they can do in the world of mortals.
Perhaps you should focus on what your request if for and word it more like a humble prayer, letting your DM now that you are asking for one of those favors.
Drop your head or lift you head back, and say, (deity's name here) please give me the power to do such and such for you and your purposes. Or so and so in all your magnificence, please grant me the wisdom to find the answer to overcoming this situation.
Then your DM will have the ability to grant you something specific for a short amount of time until the encounter is over, on order to help you do this one thing. And these gifts or favors are personal and do not require that the god enter third parties, like more dragons into the scenario.
