| Disco08-08-07, 09:43 AM | Nearing the end of a dungeon 2/5 members of our party have been turned to stone! At the moment we are 9/1 Human Druid/Monk (me) 6/1/2 Elven Ranger/Barbarian/Wild Runner 9 Human Rogue (with some levels of fighter I think) We have been playing these guys for nearly 3 years so leaving them is not the best option. We have been in contact with a very high level wizard recently too, he sent us here (sort of). The way I see it is: - Are there any great stone -> flesh spells hidden in splatbooks that the druid could use? - How best to get word to the wizard? I was thinking of scrying on him over and over to hope he scryed on us back. - How best to transport the stone statues? I was thinking if the druid carries them and wildshapes they become a part of him... hmmm Any help at all would be appreciated. edit: forgot to mention, we are playing 3.5 |

At Druid 9, however, he can wildshape into a Large creature (like a horse) and pull the statues on some sort of sled. Failing that, leave them for now and come back with the proper spells. Since you've already cleared the dungeon, you may be able to have the appropriate level cleric, bard, or wizard accompany you to the site to cast Break Enchantment. Otherwise, here are a few options for scrolls and the party's rogue: Break Enchantment is a Level 5 spell for wizards, sorcerers, and clerics. UMD DC for a minimum caster level (9) scroll is 29. The spell also requires a caster level check to overcome the magic. The rogue would use the caster level of the scroll on this check, which would add +9 to the check in most cases. Stone to Flesh is a Level 6 spell that's guaranteed to reverse the petrification effect, but a rogue's UMD DC is a whopping 31. Shrink Item would be a good alternative. As a Level 2 spell, the UMD DC is only 23. You'd need 1 scroll for each statue and have 3 days to get back to town before the spell ended. You'd have an easier time getting an NPC cleric to come to your room at the local inn than you would convincing him to follow you to some remote dungeon. |

As for transporting your friends, have you considered using Baleful Polymorph to turn them into something small enough to put in your pack? Just remember to dispel it before you turn them back to flesh. ;) |
| Turel08-08-07, 07:10 PM | erm, high strength Druid, why the hell not pick them up?? id never thought of this option, is that how it would happen?? Druid picks up a statue, turns into a eagle and flies off?? Is there a weight restriction on wild shape?? because this could be yet another way a druid is "over-powered" (not my opinion)? |

I had thought that something on Summon Nature's Ally lists might work out, but nothing from the PHB lists seem to have Break Enchantment or Flesh to Stone as spell-like abilities. There may be an expanded list in some book though that might have something. A Planar Ally scroll to summon something with a spell that can help you may also work out, again would need UMD though. |
