I'm creating half-half-elf (quarter-elf)/half-doppleganger who's shooting for the Chameleon PrC (rogue until then). I'm not sure what I want her alternate forms to be though and was looking for some ideas (small and medium humanoids only). Some race/class combinations which she could disguise herself as once she got to the PrC would be cool also.

Thanks. :)
(p.s.: yes, I know I'm being a fairly lazy bum, sorry.)

Human, obviously. Humans are all over the place and you wouldn't be questioned just for who you were.

Choose something short and something tall... Halfling is a good choice.

Campaign-specific: Dealing with Drow? Pick that. How about yuan-ti? Try a Pureblood.

Also: Had an NPC who used this strategy--Use your powers to disguise yourself as a Wizard of the race you're impersonating. Keep invisibility potions about, and use them. Have a wrapped present in your pocket--a toy for a child. Then, when you're caught, you've got a story: "I'm sneaking in here to see my niece, who hasn't seen me in two years. It's her birthday and I want to surprise her with this present..."

And the good thing about rogues: You don't need a big sword to do damage!

Hmm...master of deception that I am, i agree with callista.

There has to be a human form, just so you can be entirely unnoticable in the streets, so you could fake it assome sort of high ranking human (presuming humans rule whatever worldyou'replaying in) and so you can be trusted more by humans who make up most of the trading industry.

Something small, true, but you already have human as one inconpicuous form, what about pixie instead? The flying will be a massive bonus, plus I just love fey creatures. Depending on where you expect to be adventuring, maybe something with a swim or burrow speed instead, but i can't be bothered to leaf through the monster manual for something small that's suitable. (lazyness)

Something campaign specific, be choosy, make sure it's a FEMALE drow, or a stunningly attractive kua toan (to other kua toans at least).

I like that "present for my niece" plan, but it could backfire easily if they asked who she was or similar. I prefer to use my personal mantra:

A man with a mop and bucket is allowed everywhere.

Pixie and Kuo-toa won't work since they're not humanoid type. Will keep an aquatic form in mind in case there's a large body of water in the area. We haven't got too much information on the setting or campaign yet, but I think I'll keep one spot open for something campaign specific. Considering kobold for the small size actually; I have a problem with thinking they're kinda cute.

How big is the need for a human form if she's already got a half-elven form?
Any suggestions for the gender of races which are less sexist?
