Our DM has decided to rip out all things that are tied to divine in is game. Now I play a LG Paladin/Risen Martyr with a half-celestial race. As you can tell everything about me is considered divine. What would happen to my pc when this occurs?

You would get out ur d6's and start rolling. If he is getting rid of divine, your character would either lose all powers, and be incredibly useless (think warrior NPC), and because he is a palidin, most of them would commit hari-kari if his god was erraticated.

My question is: Why would he take everything out of the world that is divine? Was there some sort of god-holocast and not a single god survived? or is it a "Clerics and druids are teh br0kenzorz" kind of atitude?

well to answer your questions.....a little of both. he is having his so called final boss kill all the Gods. But wouldn't I be able to obtain a divine rank of my own of lets say 0 and keep my divine powers? I could maybe worship myself.

what kind of paladin would worship himself?

see this is one of those things that makes you go...but but but..how dose anyone stop something that kills all the gods..it itself has to be a god to do that and a strong one.

in 3ed eddition we got the Dietys and Demigods book and it had very powerful divine powers in it..things like instantly killing any number of non gods in a area = to there divine rank in miles with no save or possiblity of survibal unlesss your atleast a demigod.

but just off the top of my head killing all the gods can have one of many effects dempendent on your world. in a basic D&D world you can worship nature or just a cocnept and still get spells but if the DM decided all Divine magic comes from a god then all spells and magic items stop working many undead would die again no longer animated, and most likely shortly a massive plague some idiot necromacer was working on will wipe out all life on the plannet.

now In the realms its a bit more dramatic. if the goddes of magic Mystra was to Cease to exist then all the bound magic in the realms would be release all at once and the world would die in a magical blast of power as every spell and enchantment suddenly released its power.

either way the campagin is over when this happens unless the PC's become gods and take the old gods place.

thanks for you comments. is there anything that can handle that much power in dnd? And if so what might that be? You said that the pc's could become deitys well how can that be done?

there can allways be a bigger god but you start streching thnings till you create something truly perfect and when that happens the PC's loose no matter what. essentialy not only dose the big bad allways score a critical hit but his foes allways score natrual 1's on all rolls.
but thats just a random guess.

as far as how the players can become gods...there are as many ways as there have been documented in real world myth. kill a god to gain there power, eat the food of the gods, be gifted with the power by a greater being, convince people to worship you first and gain the power later, infact once 5000 years ago in faerun a mortal man named Karsus cast a single spell of such power he stole the powers from a god.
