| Aki Warren05-13-05, 09:40 PM | Hi, my name is...none of your buisness and my DM is a sissy! We have to kick a character for being an X-Factor (Never shows up..ever). Now, the DM is to big a wuss to handle it on his own and asked me nicely to handle it. Seeing as how I will eventually conquer the world and make him cry as his campigian is ruined, I figured why not? Any advice on how to do this? I don't care about being mean or anything, cause quite frankly this girl has been nothing but rude to me outside of the game even though I try to help her learn. I'm looking for stuff that'll make me giggle :D |
| Count Arioch the 28th05-13-05, 09:44 PM | Why not do a Maddox? Head-butt her in the <breasts>. No awkward good-byes, no "let's just be friends", just some bruised <breasts> and a failed relationship. (Note: Brackets indicate words that wouldn't fly here that were edited from Maddox's original statement.) |
| Thorak05-13-05, 10:05 PM | Call her up and find out when she'll be by next. Then, set up everything before she comes, and make absolutely certain there isn't any extra room at the table, no extra chair to be had anywhere, etc, etc. Make sure you're not the one who's hosting, so the fact that she told you she'd be there isn't completely damning. When she complains, have someone else ask why she expects them to keep a place open for her to just waltz in whenever she likes. Alternatively, just tell her point-blank that your group has decided that it only wants to play with people who are willing to make a committment to play. She doesn't, apparently, and while that's fine and you're not judging her, she can't play with you any more. And wish her luck finding a new group with looser attendance rules. The latter's less fun, but won't have her turn into a screaming clawing banshee of doom. |
| Aeromus05-13-05, 11:23 PM | Direct her to the rpg gamer classifieds; where she can do this.. TOPIC : Female roleplayer looking for online/real life game, that I can join just cause I have (breasts) BODY: I don't really want to play I just want to flaunt my (breasts) and get everything I want. My email is (something stupid as all get out) @ chicks don't like you . net |
| Draco Strang05-14-05, 12:27 AM | Flat out tell her "You don't show up, so don't bother showing up in the future." Simple as that. |
| IronHeart05-14-05, 12:36 AM | Flat out tell her "You don't show up, so don't bother showing up in the future." Simple as that. Couldn't have said it better myself. |
| Yruc05-14-05, 03:01 AM | Note this is not nice. get a small purse / bag and then put in a pregnancy test kit and drop it off at her house, even better to hand it to her parents at the front door saying their daughter left it at such and such place. Make sure the purse/bag is open and test kit visable. With a note on it saying, you left this at (insert where you play D&D) and since you're not coming any more we thought you might want it back. Even more mean, is if you know any pregnant women, have them use the kit and get a positive reading and put it in the purse as well.. |
| UltimateReality05-14-05, 03:46 PM | We have to kick a character for being an X-Factor (Never shows up..ever). Now, the DM is to big a wuss to handle it on his own and asked me nicely to handle it. Seeing as how I will eventually conquer the world and make him cry as his campigian is ruined, I figured why not? Any advice on how to do this? Yeah...tell your DM to grow some balls. If he can't tell someone, politely or not, who never shows up anyway that they're not invited anymore, how on earth does he control a gaming session?! It is the DM's responsibility to tell someone they are no longer welcome in the group -- not the players'. If your DM hasn't got enough backbone to tell someone they're no longer welcome, I'd quit the group. (In fact, I did just that about two weeks ago. Long sordid story I won't repeat here.) |
| Aki Warren05-15-05, 01:31 AM | Yruc, that won't work. She already knows I did that to my ex-girlfriend :D Okay, my idea is next time she comes my dragon eats her character and the DM informs her that everyone else is a NPC. She'd have to leave early and it would be amusing. However, it lacks explosions or anything really funny possibly illegal! Another idea is to fork her lawn with the words spelling "Naya (her character) is dead!" Or maybe cut her lawn to say that? I'm really going for amusement for me here. |
| Draco Strang05-15-05, 12:17 PM | I'm really going for amusement for me here. Well, you're going to come off looking like a really big tool if you do any of the stuff you want to. Your DM needs to politely inform her that she's been expelled from the group due to a lackluster attendance record. Ultimate Reality said it before me. I'll just show it to you again: Yeah...tell your DM to grow some balls. If he can't tell someone, politely or not, who never shows up anyway that they're not invited anymore, how on earth does he control a gaming session?! It is the DM's responsibility to tell someone they are no longer welcome in the group -- not the players'. Long sordid story I won't repeat here.) my nipples are ROCK HARD after reading this! Seriously folks, a DM who can't do something as SIMPLE as this should not be DMing. I'd like to kick the DM in the nads just for being such a wuss. |
| Asmodai_0005-15-05, 04:35 PM | Hi, my name is...none of your buisness and my DM is a sissy! We have to kick a character for being an X-Factor (Never shows up..ever). I don't care about being mean or anything, cause quite frankly this girl has been nothing but rude to me outside of the game even though I try to help her learn. I'm looking for stuff that'll make me giggle :D Just quit the campaign now. Please. You want to be a tool to your dm and a jerk to another player? I feel sorry for your DM. |
| Aki Warren05-15-05, 05:10 PM | So do I On a side note, she lost my book, a hardcover of the Da Vinci Code, and the game I lent her. So far nothing is wowing me, although kicking my DM in certain places would be quite amusing. However, I can only imagine how his ex-girlfriend would take it. And by that I mean she would follow me around saying how super cool I was and I would have to commit sucide to get some freedom and then she'd follow me up. Yeah...come on people, need I post this on the vile forum?! |
| J.Augustus Rose II05-15-05, 05:11 PM | I'm with Asmodai. This whole thing and 95% of the suggestions in this thread are totally immature. Is this how you people deal with things in every situation? Musical chairs and backbiting? Grow up. Seriously. Either grow a pair and say something about it to her face or just sod off about the whole ordeal. |
| Draco Strang05-15-05, 05:14 PM | So do I On a side note, she lost my book, a hardcover of the Da Vinci Code, and the game I lent her. Yeah...come on people, need I post this on the vile forum?! I'm sure you could go post this same question on www.douchebag.com or something. If you want advice on how to tactfully get her out of the game, then it's listed above. If you want to be an immature little doofus, then I think you can imagine some stuff up on your own. Go hang out in detention, the guys there can give you some advice. |
| UltimateReality05-15-05, 05:18 PM | my nipples are ROCK HARD after reading this! You have no idea how much this sentence disturbs me. :twitch: Yeah...come on people, need I post this on the vile forum?!No. But if you want to have double fun, tell your DM it's his job to boot her and watch him squirm. (You can offer him suggestions if you really like the guy.) I wouldn't go easy on her -- she lost your book, man. That's inexcusable. And a game, too. Drop her to her face, let her know the crimes she has committed. Then walk away and move on with the gaming experience. |
| IronHeart05-15-05, 08:48 PM | Why is this thread still going on? As it was simply stated by Draco earlier (as well as others) just tell the DM this is his/her job, and the player needs to either shape up, or ship out. Done, and done. |
| Aki Warren05-15-05, 09:41 PM | I don't understand the refrence to detention. Are you implying that college has a detention hall? If it does, why would I go there? My younger siblings go there sometimes, and let me assure you if they are any indication of the normal people who frequent those areas then I have no wish to interact with them on any level. If your suggestion was that I ask them for advice, then I must believe the morons at your school are of a higher or more creative caliber then the ones at my brother's high school :D Quite frankly, I don't see why this topic was met with such hostility. Haven't you all had that one player that is just really annoying? The one that asks if they can borrow your books to "just skim through" and never ever return it? Or perhaps destroy it? Haven't you seen the DM, for whatever reason (I blame her being a female and my DM being the type who doesn't interact with them much. He's kinda in love with any girl he meets), ignore such things and refuse to do something about it? Now, if any of you have been in these situations, don't you wish you could have done something about it? I am in a situation where I can. I certainly intend to enjoy myself, and get some revenge. Apparently, such actions are viewed as immature or hostile. Perhaps you are right, perhaps not. Let me ask you something though. Did I ask for help with this task, or did I ask for your opinion on my DM? Aye, yes he's a coward. I know that, and frankly I don't care. I've had DM's who just don't care, others who are afraid to take sides, or whatever. If you wanna play in Boca Raton, you gotta take the good with the bad, because there are NOT a lot of DMs. Especially if you include the fact a DM must READ THE RULES and UNDERSTAND THEM. Now, I ask you all to stop attacking me on my choice of actions. If you don't approve or wish to suggest something else, like attacking my DM (how is that better?), then please say so. But please don't make a personal attack on myself or insult my intelligence or suggest I am immature just because I have decided to pursue a course of action you may not approve of. And yes, I admit I am immature, and I wouldn't want it any other way. I am NOT however, a child as some of you have suggestion in your tone and word selection. If I am off, I apologize. This is a forum, and attitude is difficult to send through. I will personally apologize to any of you whom I have been wrong about, as it is certainly not my attention to offend or upset anyone. Thank you for your patience. If this gets out of hand, I will ask to have this thread locked. I view us here at the forums as a large collection of like minded and somewhat mature individuals, and I would HATE to be source of any discord on the board. Except in a Fighter underpowered thread :D |
| Draco Strang05-15-05, 10:02 PM | IAnd yes, I admit I am immature, and I wouldn't want it any other way. I am NOT however, a child as some of you have suggestion in your tone and word selection. Act like one and we'll treat you like one. Seriously......why can't you just tell the girl "ok don't come anymore" and leave it at that? And if you want to do so in an immature way (and you said you were immature) then you should have no trouble devising some way to do it. Pee in her soup, superglue her PHB shut, whatever it takes to get the message across. If that's how you feel you need to do it then hey, go for it. And if your DM is such an indecisive limp-wristed weenie, why do you game with that DM? Find/form a new group, and you can have the best of both worlds: No crappy sissy DM and no X-Factor players. |
| UltimateReality05-16-05, 12:14 PM | If you wanna play in Boca Raton, you gotta take the good with the bad, because there are NOT a lot of DMs. Especially if you include the fact a DM must READ THE RULES and UNDERSTAND THEM.So...why don't you DM? :P Make one more better DM in Boca Raton. (Also, check out the Gamer Classifieds.) If you're doing the DM's job, why not take over the chair officially? Draco has a point, even if worded a bit bluntly. I'm sure you would run a much tigher group than your DM and wouldn't have to start threads on the internet asking how to drop a player who never shows up. (Oh yeah, go to her place and be sure to get your books back before you drop her. Otherwise you'll never see them again.) I view us here at the forums as a large collection of like minded and somewhat mature individualsThere's your problem. We're not by any stretch of the imagination like-minded. About all we share in common is: 1) We say we play some version of the product "Dungeons and Dragons", and 2) We have access to the internet and know how to post on a message board. |
| striderII05-16-05, 02:02 PM | Quite frankly, I don't see why this topic was met with such hostility. Seriously? That makes me wonder. Kids these days... Yes, I've had that player. I've had players who want to take things for their character that just don't make sense. I've had players who want to ruin the game for others. I've seen just about every type of bad player you can imagine. Do you know what I do? "Dude...you suck, your playstyle isn't meshing with ours (and is crap), and you're generally an annoying < expletive >. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out." Then, on the other hand, I'm one heck of a jerk when I want to be. My opinion? Welcome to the internet. There are always others out there that don't like your opinions, thoughts, whatever. They will probably not be polite about it, either, thanks to the relative anonymity that the internet provides. Grow a thicker skin. That said, no, I don't agree with your choice of actions. In fact, with regards to some of them, I rather hope they're illegal in your area and you get arrested/detained/fined for them. Not *that* would be funny. At least, it would make me laugh - but then, watching some pompous person get bit by their own actions is hilarious. Other than that, Draco and Ultimate Reality said it perfectly. strider |
| Thoronmir05-16-05, 02:29 PM | Quite frankly, I don't see why this topic was met with such hostility.Personally, I'm feeling hostile because, as a mature individual, that's my usual reaction to an immature person who proposes tormenting someone whose most significant transgression is that she made your game less fun.Haven't you all had that one player that is just really annoying? The one that asks if they can borrow your books to "just skim through" and never ever return it? Or perhaps destroy it? Haven't you seen the DM, for whatever reason (I blame her being a female and my DM being the type who doesn't interact with them much. He's kinda in love with any girl he meets), ignore such things and refuse to do something about it?Yes, yes, yes and yes. The fact that your situation is not unique only amplifies the inappropriateness of your desire to make this girl suffer. If the rest of us could find mature ways to deal with such problems, why can't you? Now, if any of you have been in these situations, don't you wish you could have done something about it? I am in a situation where I can. I certainly intend to enjoy myself, and get some revenge. Apparently, such actions are viewed as immature or hostile. Perhaps you are right, perhaps not. When in your situation, I acted to remedy the problem. But that doesn't mean I relished the chance ... there is no "pleasure" in it, only relief. If you take delight in the pain and embarrasment of others, then yes, you are immature. Now, I ask you all to stop attacking me on my choice of actions. If you don't approve or wish to suggest something else, like attacking my DM (how is that better?), then please say so. But please don't make a personal attack on myself or insult my intelligence or suggest I am immature just because I have decided to pursue a course of action you may not approve of.Welcome to the internet junior. And yes, I admit I am immature, and I wouldn't want it any other way. I will personally apologize to any of you whom I have been wrong about, as it is certainly not my attention to offend or upset anyone.Perhaps the first glimpse of reason you've shown here. And you're right, aspects such as sarcasm are difficult to express on a message board. Which is why it's best not to try lest your comments be misconstrued. If this gets out of hand, I will ask to have this thread locked. I view us here at the forums as a large collection of like minded and somewhat mature individuals, and I would HATE to be source of any discord on the board. As was noted above, if you believe everyone here is like-minded, you haven't read many of the other threads. If you think everyone who posts here is a "mature individual," you haven't read any of your own posts. If you do anything other than simply tell this girl that she's no longer welcome at the game, then you, sir, are a bully, perhaps the most loathesome species of insecure, immature flotsam of human nature. Frankly, I can't fathom why you (or your group) would want to waste any more time with her than is necessary. If your desire to "punish" this girl is premised on some notion that what you intend is "no worse" than how she's treated you, think about what that says about you. If you're willing to stoop to such behavior, why should we think more of you than we would of her? As is often the case, I concur with Draco, UR and Strider. |
| Draco Strang05-16-05, 03:40 PM | Welcome to the internet junior, Priceless. |
| BeyondFated05-16-05, 03:53 PM | This may be off-topic, but I must get it off my chest. Why do people insist upon restating the what others have said, and say "just as <blank> has said before me..." or " I agree with <blank> that <what blank said>"? Really, it makes the whole board look alittle immature when four people repeat themselves. Honestly, did you think someone might have missed the first three posts that said that the OP is immature and his DM needs a spine? I know you want to voice your opinion, but when you repeat whats allready been said, your opinoin kinda loses its weight. |
| striderII05-16-05, 03:55 PM | Priceless. Because we like to gang up on others. Now repeat after me... "one of us! one of us! one of us!" strider |

I can't speak for the other posters, but I for one do it to say "Listen, there are three or four people here who are fairly like minded and not morons. By popular consensus, we think this is the course of action you might want to take." It's sort of a way to back yourself up, instead of just going "yep, it's just me on this internet, and here's what I have to say." It lends a little creedence to your argument. Hell, that and I just like seeing my name in print. |

Hell, that and I just like seeing my name in print. I understand the concept of multiple people backing the same argument, which is the point of a forum. What I dont understand is why they have to type out their opinion in its enitrety, and is only slightly different from someone else's, at best. I really think that a simple, "<blank> is correct, and I agree." is much better than a four paragraph essay. Side note: I apologize if I sound a bit stand-offish, or like a jerk. I just wanted to say what I said, and I hope noone was offended. On topic: Aki Warren, if the offender in question ever does show up at a game, point behind her and say, "Look, there is a magazine of questionable content over yonder!" Because no one can resist the allure of questionable content, she will undoubtably turn away. At that point it is imperative that you take her various DnD supplies and whack her in the head with them, then throw them out the nearrest window. Obvoiusly, you will need to do this in an area near a window, or perhaps near an open door. Regardless, when she starts to swear and run to the aid of ehr books, lock all the doors and window, shut off all the lights, and pretend your not home. Confused upon how the house became desserted in such a quick fashion, whe will walk away befuddled, leaving you to enjoy the finer things in life. :D |

I really think that a simple, "<blank> is correct, and I agree." is much better than a four paragraph essay. Because some people are just that dumb. I only quote relevant portions of an argument. If the whole post is relevant, then so be it. Doing it says to the guy "listen, here it is twice in one post if you're too lazy to scroll back up." Saying "Draco is correct and I agree" (God I love that) is all well and good, but a lot of boobs don't read the whole thread, and so won't know what I'm correct about. If you quote my correctness, it's there for them, in an irrefutable little grey box of truth. Now, who told you to stop chanting? |

If you quote my correctness, it's there for them, in an irrefutable little grey box of truth. And if they don't, then are they really the kind of people you want posting in the first place? |
| Thoronmir05-16-05, 04:23 PM | Actually, Draco, I think BeyondFated is referring to my post for example. You, UR, and Stider had each made your points and, granted, my post didn't add much to what you three had said (other than my "priceless" quip :D ). Still, I droned on and on respondind to the OP. If I'm correct in identifying BeyondFate's concern, the answer is: I post my "entire opinion" (even when it's redundant with other posts) because, while I may agree with the spirit of another post, I'm not quite ovine enough to let others express my point of view. Call it "pride of authorship" ... if I'm going to make a public statement of my opinion, I feel more comfortable relying on my own phrasing. In this case, I added my "me too" tag to the end of my post for the simple purpose of clarifying that, although I had expressed my opinion in my own terms, I also endorsed what Draco, UR, and Strider had said. As for the chanting, Draco is correct and I agree. ;) |
| BeyondFated05-16-05, 04:37 PM | Meh, I wasn't pulling anyone out, mostly because I can't remember names worth a crap. I didn't know who was repeating eachother, only that people were. And it's not just here, it's really everywhere, on the internet, on the News, in public places, whathaveyou. But, I have come to terms with it, and I shall now fade away into obscurity, roaming the boards like some king of... ya know... roamy kinda guy. From Rome. And for the road: One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! |
| Aki Warren05-16-05, 05:08 PM | Actually, BeyondFate, I do read every thing in a topic if I intend to post it and especially if I started it. Even if I can tell by the first line that this person is just saying what the person before him said, I still read it. You never know if they differ on a point and you may miss something when you comment. And BeyondFate I am taking your advice. It's quite funny and amuses me to no end. And yes, I used to DM. I DMed for a few years. I wanted to play, but unfortantly we really don't have a lot of people around here. Also, one player got bammed from my game because I like to use a lot of Devils (I visit the Deities and Planes forum at least twice a day and have read the devilkind website) and one of the guy's family is hardcore catholic. Things got ugly. He can still play, providing I don't DM anymore. Like I said, not a lot of players, so can't get rid of any. Intrestingly enough, he is the new DM. And yeah, I do view this as a forum that is a step higher then most. Maybe I've been to slightly...dirtier? forums but this site tends to focus a lot on correct grammar and treating others with a certain level of respect. Now if you people don't agree with my wish for actions, I wish you would not hijack my thread. Please just PM me or something and you can discuss your own morals or whatever it is you think with me on a one-on-one level. I have no problem hearing your views on things like maturity, even if I chose not to agree with them. Quite frankly, I think most of you all are immature, but maturity is a relative thing related more on experience then actual ages, right grandpas? :D Anyway, I got what I wanted so I'm done. Any of you guys wish to continue discussing such topics as maturity or mean players, feel free to PM me. I'll read it and get back to you as soon as possible. My AIM name is Naturesper, I'm on there when I'm not on guildwars or busy. Thanks for helping with my problem for those of you who did. For those that didn't thanks for stating your opinions. They made me giggle quite a bit |
| BeyondFated05-16-05, 05:22 PM | Hurray, Aki is gonna use my advice! It just goes to show, nothing is immune to the allure of Questionable Content. Why, to simply not even to look to see if it is even around requires a Will save DC-47. |
| High Octane05-16-05, 06:41 PM | Hopefully you will read this before you do something you regret. Be civil and polite about it. It can get messy if you decide to be immature, and she wont go down nicely, and you end up with a woman mad at you. You NEVER want a woman mad at you. Women are the most diabolical, evil, and utterly unforgiving things in the world. They are also SMARTER THAN YOU. Anyway, you also dont want to end up being the bad guy and have people talk about you like that. Be polite, be direct, and once you have made the point, stop talking. Tell her you cant include her in the game if she cant show up. If she asks why she has to be there every time, explain that each session builds on the other, and her character cant be popping in and out at convenient times, it ruins the fantasy when the 4th wall is so utterly broken. |
| Twisted Puppy05-16-05, 07:30 PM | You NEVER want a woman mad at you. Women are the most diabolical, evil, and utterly unforgiving things in the world. They are also SMARTER THAN YOU. Talk about a backhanded compliment to women... Edit: BTW, given the OP's attitude, has anyone else considered that HE is the reason the player has not been attending regularly? hmmmm... |

Good to know I wasn't the only one who saw that. :) strider |

| Aki Warren05-16-05, 08:42 PM | Yes, I am totally the reason she is not coming and ruining everyone's good time  And frankly, if she had a problem and instead of dealing with it decided to ruin her best friends good time because she wasn't able to deal with me...well then there is really nothing that can be done, can there? And good lord, you people sure go love to gang up! If you must know, I DID talk to her about the reason she doesn't go. She says the DM freaks her out and scares her. I thought this odd, as most people claim that the DM is a nice guy. The others claim he's stupid, but stupid doesn't mean your not a nice person, but some people say it like it is. So to those of you who seem to think you know exactly the situation and for whatever reason think you are qualified to comment on it, even though you ARE wrong, I suggest you remain quiet before you go off on personal insults or otherwise demean me. I would think since you all chose to take the moral high road and claim to be so mature, you would be above personal attacks. Apparently your not, and you yourselves are nothing more then the equvalent of internet bullies. If you want to have a private discussion on it, PM me. If your afraid to do so without your buddies, or you simply don't care and just like feeling superior then go crazy. This is the last time I read this thread. |
| J.Augustus Rose II05-16-05, 08:56 PM | This guy just invites abuse, doesn't he? Maybe if you didn't stomp your feet like a child every ten seconds, the members of this board wouldn't "gang up on you." The problem is, you came in here expecting everyone to be on your side and that's not how it worked out and instead of trying to see why you just whine and cry about how everyone is soooo mean to you. Grow up. Oh, and if you don't want people commenting on your situation, I suggest you don't make grade-school level posts about them. |
| UltimateReality05-16-05, 09:01 PM | If you must know, I DID talk to her about the reason she doesn't go. She says the DM freaks her out and scares her. So...why is there a problem with dropping her from the group? Why hasn't she left or formed her own yet? |
| Maerdash05-17-05, 02:51 AM | Draco, Ultimate Reality, Strider, and many others whos names im not as familiar with have, as usual hit the kobold....um nail square on the head. Be polite it gets you farther in life |
| Twisted Puppy05-17-05, 08:05 AM | So to those of you who seem to think you know exactly the situation and for whatever reason think you are qualified to comment on it, even though you ARE wrong, I suggest you remain quiet before you go off on personal insults or otherwise demean me. You're right, we do NOT know the exact situation. We know your version of it, and we have to couch our remarks based on what you put in your posts. Perhaps you have overlooked that there is no tone or facial expression involved in a forum post. Seeing as how I will eventually conquer the world and make him cry as his campigian is ruined, I figured why not? So you have a new DM, and you've decided to ruin his campaign. That makes a wonderful impression on people who read this board. If he's read this forum he'd be justified in asking you not to come back. Any advice on how to do this? I don't care about being mean or anything, cause quite frankly this girl has been nothing but rude to me outside of the game even though I try to help her learn. I'm looking for stuff that'll make me giggle I suggest pulling the wings off flies, that seems like something you would enjoy. Yruc, that won't work. She already knows I did that to my ex-girlfriend That gives us all considerable insight to your personality. And yes, I admit I am immature, and I wouldn't want it any other way. I am NOT however, a child as some of you have suggestion in your tone and word selection. Then stop acting like a child. Being mean-spirited and vindictive is a good way to ensure that there aren't more players - at least none that are interested in gaming if it means having to sit down at the table with you. |
| RogerWilco05-17-05, 04:54 PM | I completely agree with Draco, Strider, UR, TP and others. You come across like the Chaotic Evil version of Cartman. If that's not who you think you are, then you better do some thinking why you get percieved like that. I will not say anymore as that would get very insulting. |

That's okay...I called his bluff and PM'd him. After 24 hours, still no response. I'm not surprised in the least. strider |
