I am currently playing two campaigns in bothe the other DM is a player but in one the DM is always trying to integrate movies and video games into the game example as a psion for awhile he was going to try to turn psi powers into the force. example two bringing aliens and predators into othe game he wont listen to us telling him it wont work orat least he isnt doing it right any thought would help please

Use out-of character knowlege to mess with the movie plot. Like, try and make the psion angry (dark side). Haven't seen the Alien movies, so I don't know any flaws to exploit there.

Perhaps giving him smaller ideas that he can mesh into a bigger picture might help.

Sounds like a new DM... let him stumble around for a while, he'll get better eventually. You're never a Pro the first time out the gate.

First and foremost, just talk to him (or her i suppose..), and ask him if ghe could just stick to DnD-esque plots, if thats what your searching for, maybe take a vote.

If that doesn't work, leave the game, start your own. If the other players are having such a fuss as well, they'll probably join your game, and then its all good...

All new DMs do this to one degree or another, just as all new players create PCs that are Aragorn/Elric/Drr'zz't/Etcetera clones.
