When I play DnD, it is mostly a fun expirience, because usually I am the DM. But lately another member of my group took over DM and they cant concentrate on whats going on. They are either totally out of it or being a control freak. I have talked to him about it, but it keeps happening. I dont know what to do? :surrender

Is he new to DMing? Maybe you could offer to co-DM and help him learn the ropes while he gets used to processing all the information that DMs have to.

Give him some time, but remember, not everyone is cut out to be a DM.

It's good that you talked about it and keep on doing that. But emphasise on 'helping' the guy, he just needs some experience.
Maybe he eventually proves not the right guy for the job, but give him a fair chance.

Help him out by roleplaying your character in a quasi-metagame kind of way. Not great in the roleplaying dept. but it may help the DM get comfy. Also gently point out mistakes so he learns the rules the right way and doesn't do things consecutatively wrong.
