DM! Release me from this character! (Warning: Rant ahead) [Archive] - Wizards Community

Why didnt you tell him off for going back on his promise. If you really wanna stay tell him how upset you are that he pretty much lied to you and told you he was going to start turning the campaign towards LG scenario's. Tell him you are the one who has been cheated and unless he allows you to make a new character with normal starting gold you will be departing the game. hes in the wrong here not you. If you really feel like pointing all this out without talking to him if you feel he wont give you the time of day or will keep interuptinbg. Print out your post and hand it to him. It pretty much says whats wrong with this campaign and how hes basically been picking on you. You should have laughed in his face and spat that whole LG conversation in his face the moment he said you were abandoning your character, It woudl have shut him up fast. He cheated you!!

The fact of the matter is after all this how your still playing with them is a testament to your patience, I would have been gone long ago but not before ruining their campaign for all the aggravation they put me through. If you leave play one more game with your new character then when they all retire for the night.

Coup de grace them all.

leave. Never look back.

Unless your DM is willing to come to his senses.

He's not doing what he said he'd do (taking in a more LG angle), and in fact seems to see the game as GTA with spells and monsters instead of guns and people. In other words, the party can run around whacking things constantly, because it's fun. This is utterly ridiculous in a pen and paper game, since the entire point of having a DM is that he can react intelligently to prevent this stuff. Otherwise, you may as well go hack Baldur's Gate 2 and whack some innocents; you'll get the same thrill.
