Ok well heres the story so far.... Are group is the largest we have ever had at 7. We have a Dwarven Cleric who is Neutral Good, A Elven Ranger who is Chaotic Good, A Half-orc Fighter that IS CG, A Half-elf Sorcerer who is CG, a Elven Druid who is CN, A Human Werebear who is LG, and a Angel (Human) Paladin who is of Course LG, the there is my Character who is a CG Maenad Fighter/Soulknife. So the group dosnt know that the one character is an angel or that i am not human. MY soulknife and psionic powers were taken from my character by human Clerics who thought my character was possesed by a demon. Know my dm pulls me aside before the game session and says that my character had a dream and that i could become the world we are playing ins first Blackgaurd.

Now i dont mind playing characters that are diffrent from others, Last campaign I ended up being one of the children of mask who were part of a plot to gain soem other gods portfolio, I dont remeber all the details. I didnt gain any advantage from all this just the trouble of having to fight the groups enemies and the group. I dont really want to do this again, I know what my DM is working towards he is trying to split the group into multiple sides and cause a war. Im farly sure i could take down the good part of the group if i had to with the power i would be given to keep things equal, considering in the group or leader always comes to me to help in puzzles and battles.

Anyone ever have a DM try to use you as one of his villians?

First: How can they take your Psionic powers? That's not possible with Clerical magic. You'd just regain your power points the next day, and be ready to kick butt again.

Second: Decline. You want an all-Good party. That is as it should be. Besides, with that angelic Paladin in there, you're dogmeat if you go Evil.

well first the taking of the psionic powers was part of background story and has no impact on the game play, it was just story line which makes for a better story line, so like i said has no impact on the current game.

As for the Angelic paladin. How should i Say this........ We have already fought once and it took a total of one round for him to drop. WHile i would usualy agree that he could defeat me, in this game he just isnt very good. I dont know why but as a whole other then being our "Leader" he hasnt done anything, except waste our clerics spells.

Well, you see, the problem is...

It dosen't matter that his build is weak. What will matter is that when the Paladin says "He's Evil! He's a traitor!" Good people will tend to attack WITH him. And suddenly it's you Vs. the Party. Not good odds.

And it certainly does seem to have an impact on your character, since you have soulknife levels that are useless without your Psionics.

Well, if you want to become a blackguard, by all means, do it. But be prepared for the paladin to one day Detect Evil you and confront you on it. Most paladins forget they even have it, to be honest, and he might not attack you, but instead try and convert you. You never know.

Yes, I have been the DM's villain before. How the party hated me.

I managed to talk a PC into becoming my tool (a disguised devil tempted him to do an evil act "for the greater good", namely to kill a party member) once. That worked all too well, so that I have never ever tried it again. Without any pushing from my side they wiped each other out (one thing led to another after real distrust settled in), the last man taking the loot and buying himself an inn.

I prefer my players to fight the problems I pose to them and not each other, therefore I never use a PC as a tool.

Like Denubis says, if you want to be one, go for it. But it's a tough call because most people like to play as part of a party that fights together against a common foe, rather than fighting each other. Still, just because most people want this, it doesn't mean that your group wants it too. Just take care because people can take things personally, even when it's "just a game".

The most important rule there is when you're dealing with DMs is to realize that they control everything but you. The DM can surround you with evil characters who can try to persuade you, but the final decision on your alignment is yours.

Go for it if you want your char to be a black gaurd, if you dont think that your character would make that shift then dont there are plenty of other challenges for a dm to throw at a party without using pc's
