| KianTreeshadow09-14-07, 02:15 AM | Just a few quick questions I hope someone can answer for me: 1) Warlocks Decieve Item ability, does it allow him to take 10 on ALL UMD checks (Including his Imbue Item at Level 12)? 2) Which ruling is in effect, the printed text that a warlocks invocation, although they are spell-like abilities, still can fail from arcane failure or the explanation in the article All about Spell-like abilities (Which says Spell-like abilities never cause spell failure)? Thanks for any help you can provide! |

As to which text takes precedence, the answer would be the book. The article does not refer to Warlocks specifically and also in the Warlock entry you quoted, it is implied that spell failure for the Invocations is an exception to the spell-like ability rule specifically for that class. In short, though the somatic components for their Invocations are simple, allowing them to wear light armor with no problem, they still exist so there will be a chance of spell-failure in certain conditions. |
