Okay, the PHB says to choose 2 domains. I do so, and does that mean I can't cast spells against my deity's allignment? Or against MY allignment? And whichever it is, is it reffering to the axis of good and evil, or the axis of chaos and law? I'm so confused.

It goes along both axes. Lawful and Chaotic don't mix, and neither to Good and Evil. The only way you'd be able to cast absolutely any spell you want would be to be a Neutral cleric of a Neutral god.

You may cast spells oposed to your own Alignment - but you may not cast (Ie your deity does not supply) spells oppsoed to your deity's alignment.

Casting a spell with the [evil] descriptor is not actually an Evil act (and don't let anybody tell you that it is) in and of itself. But Heironeus for instance, simply does not give his Clerics access to Protection from Good.

That said - most of the Spells with the [evil] descriptor do not have great usefulness to the forces of good on a day-to-day basis, and using a spell for Evil purposes is an evil act, no matter what the spell is.

If you want to cast a spell opposed to your Deity's alignment from a scroll then you will need to make a Use Magic Device check, and, speaking as a DM - if a PC consistently and regulalry cast Opposed spells from scrolls, then I would, depending on circumstances, consider it a Gross Violation and worthy of removing his powers (As I say, depending on the actual circumstances).

The above also applies to spells with the [good], [law] and [chaos] descriptors.

Have you read the materials in the PHB?

Casting a spell with the [evil] descriptor is not actually an Evil act (and don't let anybody tell you that it is) in and of itself.

According to many WotC non-core sources, it is an evil act. One for example, in the BoVD, says that casting evil spells is an evil act, although, if done infrequently and for a good purpose may not nessecarily lead you down the path of evil, but that was already known about the alignment system, that single small instances of evil don't make you evil.

But, as we all know around here, the system with the biggest problems that people have about D&D is the alignment system. Just take everything with a grain of salt. In the real world good and evil is more subjective, while in D&D it's finite, per the RAW. You can easily take out the Alignment system without too much trouble... and DRs and Aligned weapons become "light" and "dark" or "positive" and "negative" or something along those lines.
