Draconic Racial Class [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-22-06, 09:42 PM In the RoD it gives the Draconic Racial Class variant(DRCv). Later on it mentions, in the feats section, the Dragon Wings and Dragon Tail Feats. These feats can only be taken at 1st level character creation and they require the dragonblood subtype.

The DRCv gives the dragonblood subtype at ECL 2 when the character takes on the draconic template. What I want to know is this: does adding that template count as 1st level character creation?

04-22-06, 09:57 PM No. A character cannot use this racial class to qualify for these feats, since he won't be first level when he does so. The first-level restriction is there to denote that these are traits a character must be born with or develop during childhood, and thus cannot gain later in life.

04-22-06, 10:31 PM Actually, if you make a new character of a level, you don't use the racial class and thus can take it freely. And secondly, what do you have against kobolds and spellscales? :mad:

And anyway, your DM can possibly houserule otherwise. It's really up to him.

04-22-06, 10:45 PM I'm not entirely sure what this Draconic Racial Class Variant is, but is a feat say it must be taken at first level, that means it has to be taken as the feat you gain when you gain your first Hit Die. If the above mentioned variant adds hit die, you gain feats for those hit die, which you could use to gain the feats, if it just adds a LA, then you can take the feat when you take your first class level.

04-22-06, 10:55 PM the dragon born gain dragon blood and can swich out one of the feats they already have for a draconic feat. and half dragons can get it at first level.
