| Golem197211-11-07, 02:56 PM | Yeah, great time playing a (Necropolitan) DN. Unlife of the Party! I was the meatshield, debuffer, healer (UMD), and loremaster. The party cleric pretty much never had to use cure spells with me around (I'd absorb most of the damage in an encounter then heal myself). I was very sub-optimal in my build. Two vile feats made me almost large so I could reach out and touch people. But, the DM didn't like my character (constant debuffing, many immunities, DR, etc.). Instead of telling me out of game to retire my character, he plotted with 3 of the other 5 players to kill my character. We fought a small dragon in a cave (underwater entrance). The 3 plotters didn't use any spells / abilities during the fight (and strangely didn't take any damage). They jumped me after the fight (down to half hit points). I almost had two of them down to negatives when the third (cleric) rolls a natural twenty and turns me. I run away of course. Game (and campaign) ended there. We figured that at the end of the turning, I'd have come back and killed / animated the 2 characters that were outside of the cave and then the 3 of us would've waited for the other 3 outside the cave (underwater). Would've been an easy win for me. Back to topic: DN's are great. I think some of my favorite characters now are the DN and the Walker in the Waste. |
