Dream Dwarf Cleric -> Earth Dream [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-17-07, 07:14 AM Hi there!

I want to play a dream dwarf cleric who is devoted to the earth dream. I already found lots of character building options but there is only few information about the earth dream itself. Is it a passive power or is there a being behind? Perhaps a powerful creature from the plane of earth? Or the quori (Eberron)?

If you have some information or interesting ideas please post here!

05-17-07, 09:17 AM IIRC (ie without checking Races of Stone) the force behind it was a counterpart to Obad-Hai - a Dwarven Nature God.

What domains are you taking? Earth seems natural, is the other Dream (which I think first appears in Races of Destiny but is also in the Spell Compendium).

In the default (Great Wheel) cosmology the plane of Dreams is an optional Outerplane and the plane of Nightmares an optional demi-plane. Best to find out if your using standard, Eberron or non-standard cosmology. (Personally I use the Ravenloft Cosmology in which the demi-plane of Nightmares replaces the Lower Planes).

The domains you suggest sound good to me, I also thought about choosing them, the dream domain is a good story opportunity in eberron.

I think my character will go on a quest to reveal the true nature of the earth dream, and the quori (plane of dreams) are one opportunity, but I also think that the khyber/dragon below direction sounds possible. I want to start with true neutral alignment, and the revelations of my quest will influence my final alignment.

But honestly I am not sure what you mean with demi and outer planes. Do I need to define planes for the portfolio of the earth dream?

05-17-07, 11:49 AM I'm focusing too much on the word "dream" and not enough on the phrase "earth dream" - these planes are things that can affect what dreams are in non-standard cosmology (for more details please see the Manual of the Planes). As your using Eberron they'd be equivilent to Dal-Quor. If it was right then it would mean the quori were the ones behind the Earth Dream.

May be a good idea to ask on either the Races board or Eberron board as well to get more relevant feedback. (Generally it's board etiquette to post in the two most relevant places - so if you hadn't already posted here I'd recommend both, as it is Eberron is the more suitable).

As I was trying to say, it's always a good idea to talk to your DM about these things first, because he may have completly different ideas than these boards.
