Druid help/were-template [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-25-07, 11:17 AM I’m playing a druid for the first time and took VoP to simplify things. So I went on the net to get some hints how to play them and I found a few things that didn’t make sense. First of all is there a feat or something that allows aberration and beast/dinosaur shapechange? Also I'm pretty sure that druid retain their HD but I couldn't find it in the PHB, so I just need someone to agrre with me.:D And a little irrelevant but is there a way to create were-beast, like a template added to a creature than add the final creature? All help would be appreciated, thanks. :D Sory if I'm doing something wrong but this is my first post here.:P

02-25-07, 11:38 AM First post, eh? Keep up the good grammar and you'll go far 'round these parts. That said... For your wildshape question, there is a PrC (Prestige Class) called Master of Many Forms taht allows wildshaping into dozens of forms. There are also Epic feats to allow more forms. There may also be some non-epic feats taht have the same effect. Also, in 3.5, there are no more "beasts", except for magical beasts, and those are off-limits in general. Also, dinosaurs are animal-type creatures. I also believe taht Druids retain thier HD and HP, and regain HP as though they had slept for a night, but I don't have my PHB in front of me, and I don't feel like looking right now. As for the "were-beast" you mentioned, I do believe you mean lycanthropes, like werewolves, right? I'm not sure if you can summon those, but I don't believe you can, and I know you can't wildshape into them, in general.

I thinking about making a different were-creatures, so I'm not limited to the ones in the book. I'm player but occasionally I DM for a group of three and I was thinking about making plague like disease that goes from animal to animal, but if a humaniod get infected, the humaniod become a were-version of that creature. Just an idea.:D

02-25-07, 01:21 PM Hey, if you want to make it so that regular animals can be carriers of lycanthropy, that's your prerogative as DM.
