| Cthulhu-LQ06-07-06, 12:04 PM | I have been asked to join a game which takes place in Forgotten Realms. The DM told me he would prefer if I played a cleric, or a druid would be good too. So I've been thinking a bit about it, and I think a druid would be fun to play. The problem is, I don't really know Forgotten Realms, except what I read in the first 2 books of Drizzt, and some other random facts. I'd like to read a bit more about this world, but there is so much to know, I would like to focus on what would be relevant to my character. Are there any resources where I can find some basic info about this world? Do druids have to worship a god too? When I search for info on Forgotten Realms, is there anything I should be looking for in particular? My character would proably be a NG halfling druid, with a goat as animal companion he always rides, fat and with a friendly personnality and a passion for travel, making good food and getting the best possible taste out of everything that can be eaten! About the goat, it's not in the list for a druid's animal companion, but that can certainly be arranged. It would probably be like a pony but with a charge head-butt attack. Are there any stats for goats somewhere? |

But I probably see the DM before I join the game, that's why I asked for info here. |

For info, FR is WAY too complicated to explain here. The geography takes up over half the book; it's incredablly in depth. It has a section of new feats and prestige classes (they've been updated in the book Players Guide to Faerun, and has a section on the many deities of the Realms. There's also a section explaining how to play each of the basic character classes in FR, you might want to look over the Druid part of that section. |
