Mr_Clegg 09-30-06, 08:59 AM	hi, im new to the forums and I have few questions: First, in one campaign im a druid who just got to lvl 3, so my wolf animal companion gains +2 HD if im not mistaken. But then he has total of 4 HD and in SRD it says in wolf entry in its advancement place that 4-6 HD is Large. so my wolf starts to grow suddenly?? Second, what about feats he gains? usually u gain a feat every 3 HD I think but is it from the HDs the companion gains(which means it wouldn't get one until I was lvl 5) or does its own 2 HD it has in the beginning count? Third, same question about ability score increases?? thank you in advance for your answers.
Paxar 09-30-06, 09:27 AM	1. No, the size increases are just for making naturally tougher versions of the animals. It's how they explain the extra HD, the animal is just a larger specimen. 2. The original 2 HD count I believe, so at Druid lvl 3, he would have 4 HD, an extra feat, and 2 HD worth of more skill points. 3. At 4 HD he gets an ability point to spend wherever.

Now would having him choosing St. Cuthbert as a diety be a bad idea since he plans to destroy any that dare ruin nature with the destructive power of fire(IE fire spells and wildshaping into a fire elemental)?

Stylistically, it depends on what you meant by this statement: he plans to destroy any that dare ruin nature with the destructive power of fire(IE fire spells and wildshaping into a fire elemental) Is your character using fire to destroy people ruining nature, or are the people ruining nature using fire to do so? If your character is using fire, Obad-Hai might be a better choice. Protecting nature, and fire is one of his domains. If the people ruining nature are using fire, Ehlonna or Obad-Hai would be good choices. Both are big on protecting nature. Ehlonna would be an alignment stretch for you since she's NG and you're LN, but it's doable (the one-step rule only applies to clerics). All that said, St. Cuthbert wouldn't be a bad choice. He's big on retribution and protection in general, you're just focusing that and that's fine.
