| Martryn05-22-07, 10:35 AM | Playing a Warblade in an upcoming campaign a friend of mine is running. It's the Savage Tide Adventure Path for those who are familiar with it, which I get the impression it'll be a lot of piratey stuff and jungles and things like that. I've had this idea for a two-weapon fighting Warblade who throws down with bastard swords for a while now, and I'd like to see some opinions and suggestions from the forum here. Strength 14 Dexterity 16 Constitution 12 Intelligence 14 Wisdom 8 Charisma 10 Skills: Max ranks in Balance, Climb, Concentration, Intimidate, Jump, Swim, and Tumble. Feats: Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Bastard Sword) and Two-Weapon Fighting. Maneuvers: Moment of Perfect Mind, Sudden Leap, and Steel Wind. Stances: Punishing Stance Equipment: Bastard Sword, Short Sword, and Breastplate. 28 point buy characters, as you can see, and starting at 1st level, obviously. My plan is to take Oversized Two-Weapon Fighting at 3rd and break out the dual Bastard Swords and try to focus mainly on maneuvers from the Tiger Claw and Iron Heart schools, with a few Diamond Mind counters and boosts. My feats will mostly be Two-Weapon Fighting ones, with a short pause for Improved Crit when it becomes available. To round up the character I'll be saving up for a Cold Iron Holy Bastard Sword, a Magical Silver Bastard Sword, and an Adamantium Bastard Sword. Mithril Breastplate and an Improved Ring of Jumping would also be nice. Any suggestions? Comments? Do you think a character like this is a viable option? I'd love to hear some feedback and options a character like this might have. I don't want to min/max him, but I'd like him to be able to stand toe-to-toe against any martial NPC's/baddies the DM might have in store for us. |

| Raiden Drake05-22-07, 10:55 AM | Seems ok to me, but I'm no optimizer... so I cant help you much with the mechanics of the char. But one thing i can say, i love dual bastard wielding. |
| trapspringer05-22-07, 12:14 PM | It's not optimal, but then you've got a concept and you are running with it; that's a lot more important under most circumstances. Neat build, thumbs up. |
| ravenshrike05-28-07, 11:00 PM | Heh, Savage Tide with 28 pt. buy? Hehhh hahahahhahhahh *wheeze* Better get A LOT of extra character sheets prepared. Betcha someone dies in the first battle assuming a halfway competent DM. |
