currently in my campaign im playing a Wizard necromancer with a large contingent of ghouls that act as his honnor gaurd/shock troopers/servants but they have been mostly inactive in our fights and their concidered dm controled when i send them on missions. Now my problem is this is there a way to bring them into fights without rolling them a billion times? are there easy mass fight rules?

Thanks.

When my group has any large number of cannon fodder types involved in such combats we usually only roll once for all the 1st level Orc Barbarians, once for the 2nd level Orc Clerics, and so on.

Alternatively you should check out Heroes of Battle, if you haven't already.

Birthright for 2e.

2e Battlesystem.

Old D&D Cyclopedia, within it, War Machine, or Siege Machine.

Bruce Galloway's Fantasy Gaming.

Rolemaster War Law

Heroes of Battle has great rules for unit level fighting, among a mountain of other useful stuff. One of the better supplemental books IMO.

You couls also ask if you could have it act as a Mob (from the DMGII). basically, it's a swarm for Medium or Large creatures.
