Elven names and translations [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-24-07, 07:07 PM I am wanting to play an elven character who will have a true elven name and i would like to have bits of elven language used correctly, would anyone know where I may find such information? I would really appreciate it.

07-24-07, 10:58 PM I'm not sure yet, a female name...she's gonna be a CN Rogue/Shadowdancer who fights for individual freedom, and does bad things for good reasons (fight fire with fire kinda thing). Will be useful for secondary melee ( hide in plain sight, spring attack with sneak attack, go back hiding in the same round) and trap finding/disarming. Concept I'm working on, I take alot of time on my characters, I like to know the character inside and out before roleplay so I play them correctly and not shoot from the hip as I go through the story.

How does "Quickblade" translate? That's the surname for one of my favorite rogues.

Quickblade is...Tahlro/Tahlri/Tahlron. It depends.

Be aware that the Grey Company's "elvish" is a bastard stepchild of Tolkien's sublime language.
