Hello there

We are starting a new game and I wanted to play the shape shift varient of a Druid from the PHB II book. What I was wondering was this:
If you (or someone else) casts Enlarge person on me in elven form, and I think transform into my predator form.. is that form enlarged?

Thanks

You would remian enlarged in your different form.

However I would not recomend that variant, ans either wild shape, or your animal companion is stronger mechanically. That being said if it suits your concept, and the DM is willing have fun with it.

And as the consence on this board is that druids are too strong this variant is rather good.

It seems like a fun idea to play, especially when you get to ariel form. You do lose a bit, but heh, D&D aint all hack and slash. Thanks for your help :D

No. You do not stay enlarged, because you are no longer a humanoid after you wild shape.

Put it this way. If you contract lycanthropy, and polymorph yourself into a rock with "polymorph any object", do you become a hairy rock when the moon comes out?

Similarly, you do not stay enlarged in wild shape form. If you change from your wild shape to your druid form, then your druid form will still be enlarged, if the duration of the Enlarge Person spell has not worn off, but that's all.

Errr no, you are now Humanoid (or at least retain the Humanoid Subtype) when you change, so Enlarge person does remain.

The reason for this was to power Druids down a little as Druids get Animal Growth, but not Enlarge person. So before the errata, which changed it so you retain the humanoid subtype you could chage into a Dire Bear and then cast Animal Growth....

Now you would have to get your Wizard/Sorceror, or Cleric pal to cast Enlarge person, either before or after you assumed Dire Bear form. The same should apply to the variants's forms.
