| DarkLiChNeaZur08-05-06, 09:55 PM | well my first character ever was a drow-ranger/assasin. a few days ago we were continueing a campeign to kill an elven king (its a drow based campiegn) and my freind was DM'ing today, we approach him and all of a sudden a paladin comes up and kills me, he passed his spot check, and i was foolish for not using invis, i died rather fast, wearing little armor and having only an hp of 105 (im was lvl 38) (it was that low because i was cursed with being able to throw hits but not take them, lowers HP in HD roll by 2 and makes my crit requirement 2 lower.) level 38, 4 campiegns, and approxamately one year of playing, slightly upset, i didnt flip, but im anxous to create a new assasin, just felt like sharing this tale to ya all |
| archerpwr08-05-06, 10:07 PM | use duerger for the hp and invis sla. go rogue X/deepwarden 2/assassing X pump ur con for hp and ac and use dex, cha, and wis as dump slots. for lvl abil increase go con for hp and ac. wear fullplate enhanced to have no armor check. Result: Assassin that wont die and jus relies on flanking for massive dmg. only workable at high lvls |
| Kresalak08-05-06, 10:08 PM | If you're level 38, death is only an inconvenience. The cost of True Ressurection is a joke at that level. Just get him ressurected if you want to keep him. Otherwise become a Void Incarnate. Void Incarnate rocks. |
| MasterOfPsychic08-05-06, 10:21 PM | By level 38 your party should be able to acess magic that raises the entire party on one round.... True Ressurection is extremely simple in that case.. |
| Bulletproof_Condom08-05-06, 11:07 PM | A 38th-level primary divine caster ought to be able to bring back the entire party several times per day. Indeed, you shouldn't make a new character unless the dead one would have a good reason to stay dead, like he met Meryl Streep in the afterlife or something. |
| DarkLiChNeaZur08-05-06, 11:10 PM | wow im a dipwad..... lemme call my freind and tell him to go to that temple i didnt even think of that holy crap im dumb thanks guys |
| Alric08-05-06, 11:23 PM | You seriously didn't even think of ressing? Did you make it that far without ever dying? |
| Kyle_the_wizard08-06-06, 12:30 AM | I don't think of ressing much because it t'is not allowed in my campaigns just to keep the barbarian from jumping onto the back of a red dragon to see what it feels like... |
| DarkLiChNeaZur08-06-06, 12:52 AM | yep actually this is the first that characters well died, uhm and most campeigns only clerics can rez, cant pay for em, so.... i'll find a stupid cleric to rez me for a price then i'll kill him/her for the money :) |
| Seerow08-06-06, 01:00 AM | Dude, you're a 38th level character. True Resurrection costs what, 25,000 GP? That's pennies at your level. And really, a character at that level who doesn't have a Contingent True Ressurection probably desrves to stay dead. |
| kelvinaw27308-06-06, 08:06 AM | Can I point out the resurection is at the God's discretion? A level 38 drow may well have a few ... enemies ... in the afterlife that do not wish to see him being brought back to life. Or he may be so popular with some that they don't want him to go .... |

This would be a terrible call on the DM's part. Besides, "others" don't have anything to do with it. He can just as easily go to a cleric of a similarly aligned deity who wouldn't want the soul of this 38th level champion in the afterlife. So just save some time and get on with it. |

Well in my campaign I make it clear that staying on the good side of the Gods is very important ... vital, in fact, when you die, whatever may happen. |
| DarkLiChNeaZur08-07-06, 01:07 AM | oh and um did i mention that this character, has made enemies within the players too.... :D now i pay for...... killing the clerics wife, the paladin because she said i was "evil" damnit! oh well your all right i'll get rezed and well kill the cleric for being an ass |
| Alric08-07-06, 01:12 AM | Actually like 10,000 of it gets used up in the spell so you can kiss that part goodbye. |
