| juggernaughteagle01-11-06, 07:18 PM | Ok here's the situation. The party is in a lawful evil country that scans everyone with detect good at midnight. They throw everyone thats good in jail. I assume the prisoners are bound with masterwork mancales and the cells have AMFs because it is rather high security. The DM is doing this to railroad us into a stupid chariot race. Is there any way I can get out of this? my party paladin/artificer gestalt(me), wu jen/rogue gestalt, fighter/? gestalt, ranger/? gestalt, sorcerer/artificer gestalt. we are all level 5 and all of us are good excpet the sorcerer. :weep: |
| Araciel01-11-06, 07:24 PM | stop being so damn difficult and just do as your dm tells you all the time...this will make the game a lot more fun for...well..him apparently... anyways, joking aside, if the dm has done this to you, there's no way to escape. since the dm can control the reality of the game world, if he wants to force you to do something, you can't stop it happening. the only way i can think to deal with it is out of game...explain to the dm that this style of play is no fun and maybe even give an ultimatum, along the lines of 'my character commits suicide because he refuses to be imprisoned' or 'my character's alignment shifts to chaotic evil because he cannot reconcile such prolific evil and remain a champion of the light.' or, as i always say to those who ask 'what's a player to do?', become a dm |

Spell Nondetection, (3rd level wiz) will shield 1 person. Spell Undetectable alignment- bard 1, cleric 2: 1 person for 24 hours. The artificer could fake something like that up, I suspect. |
