| Ulorian07-01-05, 02:47 PM | The power energy bolt from expanded psionics states that if you choose cold the save becomes fortitude instead of reflex. does the evasion class ability function against a cold energy bolt or notWell, no: it's a Fort save. |
| haywood251407-01-05, 02:57 PM | its a bolt, so logically you would still be able to dodge it its just a different element, please post an explanation of your opinion |
| Lorianne07-01-05, 03:06 PM | By the RAW you can't use the Evasion ability for anything other than a Reflex save (and only on a save which lets you save for half damage). |
| Roreck07-01-05, 03:08 PM | Evasion only works with reflex saves. If the spell is now a fortitude save than evasion does not work. If it is no longer a reflex save, than evasion does not apply. Look at the defintition of evasion: it is described in the character discription of both monks and rogues and probably a few other classes. |
| Flushmaster07-01-05, 04:57 PM | Evasion only applies to reflex saves. The hexblade class gets a similar ability called mettle that applies to fortitude and will saves, but not reflex. Mettle would reduce damage to zero on a successful fort save, but evasion would not because evasion doesn't apply to fort saves. Evasion applies to reflex saves. It says that quite clearly in it's description. Does it say anything about fortitude saves? No. Why? Because it doesn't apply to fortitude saves. Quite simple, really. Edit: spelling correction |
