| pointless5612-13-04, 08:22 PM | have you considered saying sorry? seriously though try some divination spells or something to figure out why you ****** of an entire ( intire? inteir? intern?) religion |
| cheeskacat12-13-04, 08:28 PM | our divinations revealed nothing about the balor and nothing on why the religion of nerull wants me dead, but we did locate one of thier main hideouts but it is very hard to make a counter attack when the balor pops up so often what am i going to say sorry for? |
| DemonsOfRazgriz12-13-04, 08:48 PM | You never said what alignment your gray-elf is, or who your deity is. Those two-bits of info and what happend between the beggining of the campaign to when it first happend is vital info too. |
| Afarian12-13-04, 08:51 PM | You never said what alignment your gray-elf is, or who your deity is. Those two-bits of info and what happend between the beggining of the campaign to when it first happend is vital info too. I agree!! Also, what events led up to this point? Were you just walking along the road one sunny day, whistling to the bluebirds and singing a happy tune when----BAM!! Suddenly your being attack by Balor and people of Nerull!!! p.s. and since I'm not that familiar with religions--what is Nerull?? |
| Ssussunriyh12-13-04, 09:32 PM | Sounds like a DM problem to me. Whap your DM upside the head with a heavy object, or several, repeatedly. I once had a terrible DM who was a power-tripping control freak. Even though the PCs were supposedly the heroes on an epic quest to save the kingdom, everyone seemed to be against us. At best, NPCs were neutral and we had to do some serious butt-kissing for the slightest amount of help. And somehow, the various bad guys were all in league with each other, and always knew precisely where we were and what we were doing. Not to mention the BBEG who would suddenly appear out of nowhere, kick our butts, steal whatever important piece of the puzzle we had just obtained, and then vanish before we could do anything to try to stop him... We all got tired of stroking the DM's ego. Everybody quit his game. |
| DemonsOfRazgriz12-13-04, 09:39 PM | And to anbody else who doesn't know who Nerull is. Well,I don't have the book with the current info on Nerull. The book that, I have has some info on Nerull and it is in the Greyhawk Adventures by James M. Ward. Nerull(Major Deity) AL: Neutral Evil WAL: I'm guessing it's follower's any evil Soc domain: Death, Darkness, Underworld SY: Skulls and scythe Plane: Tarterus Patron of covert activity, he is known as the reaper, Foe of all good, Hater of all life, Bringer of all darkness, King of all gloom. and reaper of flesh. And this sums up the religion besides the spreading of evil. Blood sacrifices are common. Nerull appears as a skeletal figure with dull rust-red skin. His skull like head has locks of dark-green, ropey hair. His eyes are green, suggesting verdigris; his talons and teeth are the same hue. He wears a black cowl and carries the Life Cutter, a red-veined sablewood staff(NOTE* It's actually a scythe but, I guess it looks like a staff). And the stats for that weapon, I am not going to say, let's just let's leave it as a major bad-@**. P.S. I hope this satifies your curiosity Afarian. |
| cheeskacat12-13-04, 09:40 PM | nerull is the god of death my characters alignment is nuetral-good and is a follower of ehlonna. the game begun 4 years ago at level two. the party's mission given to them by there dieties was to destroy a temple of the orc god. so some of the campaign was walking to the temple. most of the encounters were just random encounters on the road. we got to the temple and did the job( we were level 14 at this point). after this we were told to go kill a red dragon so we went into the dungeon and got part way through until we did a commune spell and found that the dragon was already dead so we left. we went to the usual city we hang out at to buy supplys and figure out what to do next.( our characters ultimate goal in the end is to free the halfling race from mindflayers) so my character and a few of the party members were walking down the street when a goblin appeared out of no where and did a death attack on me and failed. then all the other things such as the clerics of nerull and mercenarys they hired ambushed the party. anything offensive from the baddies was targeted at me. we ended up winning the fight by my charaacter loosing control and cast shapechange and became a pitfiend.(at this time two of the party memberswere dead) 1 day later while our characters were eating dinner the balor just popped into the room and started attacking me. every time i would move away it would follow me ignoring the other party members. we ended up making it flee. the other chatacters in my party are: wild elf wererat rogue 13(my personal body gaurd) elf cleric17 of elf diety halfling sorcerer16 half-ogre rogue7/fighter7 my character has an unique backround as well |
| DemonsOfRazgriz12-13-04, 10:02 PM | In greyhawk it says sometimes the temples of Nerull are hidden and mabye you accidentlly destroyed the entrance to one and never realized it or you killed a creature within his territory domain of a temple and it was one of his personal companions. The best, I can probably say is the next time you go up against one of his clerics, disable him/her, and try to get info from the cleric on why you earned Nerull's wrath. You could also wait till it's night outside in the campaign and say Nerull what did, I do to earn your wrath tell me now. P.S. Is your deity friendly to Nerull or is considered a mortal enemy of him. If the 2 are mortal enemies there might be a temple of Nerull hidden or out in the open if the city has a lot of evil people in the town. That's another factor, I just remebered. I do hope this may help. The best, I can also say is ask the DM for a hint on what you did to deserve this. |
| bard_4_life12-13-04, 10:15 PM | nerull is the god of death Well that would explain why they want you dead wouldn't it? :P Maybe they recieved some otherworldly message from Nerull warning them that you're a threat, and they're out to eliminate you first. I dunno, maybe it's a just a really bad case of railroading. (begin silly) Or it could be like that one episode of Spongebob where he and Patrick were selling chocolate and this one fish was chasing them the entire episode. In the end, the fish only wanted to buy all their chocolate. (end silly) |
| alecthemad12-14-04, 12:32 AM | Amulet of nondetection should help. Have you asked any of the Nerullites or did you just kill them all? They should at least know who sent them and then you move up the chain. By the way I would try threatening them with cutting off fingers and such so they can no longer kill people for thier god, Nerull worshipers (at least the really faithful) look forward to death. As far as the Balor, having met him you should be able to summon and bind him with the proper spells. Then find out why he is after you. |
