| GnomeBarbarian07-22-06, 04:54 PM | My cousin recently sotle my Hordes of the Abyss book as soon as I got it based on the fact that he is the DM of our group. So he is now working on a campaign that would require us to be lvl 10 eveil characters to work our way up in the ranks of the abyss and probably eventually become demon lords ourselves. My question is what type of class do people think would be idle to rule the abyss. I was thinking about working in the shifter class from Masters of the Wild but I am not sure exactly how it works when it comes to the diffrent forms spell like abilities and anyhting like that. Also what books would help me agaisnts such monsters....Book of Vile Darkness?..Fiend Folio? Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

If you wanna play a shifter, go for it. But first, you should track down the Complete Adventurer and look at the updated shifter, the Master of Many Forms, because assuming you're gonna be in a 3.5 campaign, you always wanna use the most current stuff possible. Plus, the MoMF has a list of exactly which races/classes can qualify for it, which is oodles of help. And for the record, you do not get spell-like abilities when you're shifted. You don't even get the supernatural abilities. You do get the (Ex) abilities, although I can't for the life of me remember what Ex stands for. |

As long as your class lets you be a hateful, arrogent, trecherous, power hungry scion of evil then you will make for a great demon lord. for flavor reasons, Hexblade or Warlock might be nice, since they have fiendish influences. If you do become one, be a tiefling to maximize your fiendishness. Shifter/ master of many forms would make a great demon lord. It allows for tremendous versitility, not to mention the tremendous horror it harbors that can only be tapped by kobolds... I recomend playing the character you want. Be a master of many forms, but be evil. Maybe be a tiefling for the flavor, but no matter what you do, be twisted and irrideamably fiendish. Be an insane megalomanic of despicable intent. Conquer the boiling, freezing, oozing, twisting, destroying, eviling (webster forgive me) pits that are the Abyss with your ever shifting hand/claw/wing/fin/potato. Trust noone, and expect the same. Keep friendships only as long as they are convienent, and betray your allies (NPCs, not the other PCs, that cannot end well) before they do the same, because rest assured, they will. Destroy all who oppose your will, and don't rest until all the abyss trembles before your unholy might!!!!! Mwa ha ha ha ha!!!! :evillaugh Just my ideas. |
