| Ian031104-16-07, 12:05 PM | I'm playing an evil wizard who is a specialist in Necromancy. He turned to evil through actions which he believed to be righteous and still does, due to the brutality that was done unto his family once they discovered that his mother was a necromancer. However, he has been known to use brutal, obviously evil methods (murder, blinding/deafening people, poisoning folks, etc) to 'right wrongs', (with no particular favor towards or against evil folks throughout his career). He does not obey the law happily, though makes no particular effort to infuriate those that uphold it by recklessly breaking it, either (as neutral evil characters typically do). He also has a bit of disdain for harming those who cannot defend themselves/did not really do anything to 'earn' their deaths/punishment, though money (or other rewards) can sway his opinion on the matter. Of course, in combat or anywhere else, after he offers a chance for surrender/flight and it is refused, the gloves come off and he does what must be done. I want to know, if only to be certain, if the community thinks this guy is evil or just neutral with evil tendencies. |

| kelvinaw27304-16-07, 01:35 PM | Neutral Evil, but with some redeemable features. In fact, this could be an interesting one for a Paladin to adventure with ... if the paladin can make headway on stopping him killing mercilessly. |

| daggeroflath04-16-07, 01:54 PM | He's evil... he just doesn't play well with the other evil kiddies. ;) |

Um, not if he is a Paladin that doesn't want to fall: Evil + Paladin in a party=fallen paladin. |

| Maekrix_Waere04-16-07, 11:26 PM | Um, not if he is a Paladin that doesn't want to fall: Evil + Paladin in a party=fallen paladin. Not neccesarily. If the paladin is actively attempting to redeem said evil person, then he will not fall until he stops actively trying to redeem him. Once a paladin accepts an evil person for what they are, they are effectively saying that being evil is a justifiable option for life. As such, THEN the paladin would lose their powers. To the OP: This may be my chaotic side speaking, but, I am of the opinion that, so long as greater good is done than harm, then killing, deafening and blinding of people is perfectly acceptable. The ends justify the means. (I said killing, not murder, because murder is the slaying of an innocent. Killing is not neccesarily murder. Murder is ALWAYS evil. However, you said he performed these actions in order to right wrongs, and thusly, it is likely the killings are not murders.) It mainly depends on who you perform these actions upon. Right now, I don't have enough to call it either way, but your characters souds either EXTREMELY CHAOTIC Good, who is perhaps beginning to fall into darkness, or, indeed, Neutral Evil. More information would be appreciated. |

Not neccisarily, i've actually played an evil spellcaster with a Paladin in the group, he kept from being a fallen paladin because he incessently tried to convert my character to good, it was his mission, made the roleplaying very interesting. |

| ReaderOfPosts04-17-07, 12:56 AM | Depends how your group defines it. If he doesn't kill innocents, he's probably better than the vast majority of adventurers. If atrocities don't stand in his way, or he makes bodies run around and pull people from burning buildings (because mindless beings, can in fact, be evil) (or knocks people out with Oil of Tagit instead of stabbing them... because all poisons are, indeed, evil) he is evil. Usually one evil action that your character accepts as fine will send them evil (killing drunken slobs to clean up the streets, wiping out races with the potential to be good etc.) I would say from the looks of it somewhere between true neutral and neutral evil. |
