| flamepheonix18210-16-07, 11:12 PM | Hey, My character just died so i'm rolling a new char (cleric, stormlord). Talos is not present in our campaign so i'm just going to follow the ideal of the storm. However I want to Roleplay him as basically a psychotic preacher would believes he speaks for ,in this case, the storm (sort of a insane preacher). The only problem is the other PC's obviously wont convert. So the wy I want to roleplay my character is I would have to try and kill them. (our party is neutral but we've been getting closer to evil for a while now) Any ideas? I dont want to lose the flavour of my character though |

Yes, it's true that you should roleplay your PC and have them act the way their personality dictates, but you should also be nice enough to make a personality that will work with the remainder of the group. This is espescially true if your old PC died and you're joining an existing group (as you already know what they're like). Do not make a character that will 100% disrupt the group. The goal of the game is to have fun, and the other players and the DM will probably not enjoy this. Take one for the team and either change the flavor of this guy, or roll up a new one. |

Like everyone else was saying why would the current party even incorporate a charector of that personality. If your party consist of mercenaries, raiders, slavers, or just blood thirsty sadistic b*****ds who enjoy leveling every town you come across then play the charector to its fullest. When I played one I sacrificed people almost daily, theroughly enjoying the sacrifice section of the book of vile. I eventually leveled a town by use of the 24 hour control weather(tornados are fun :) sacrifice check. |
| flamepheonix18210-17-07, 08:45 PM | Well I'm not going to make it if it will disrupt the party too much. However one of the reasons I was going to make him was our party desperately needs a cleric (we have a beguiler, Ranger, monk). Also I think I sort of figured out an excuse (albeit cheesy). I talked to my DM and we were thinking of making them get caught in a huge storm and somehow surviving it, then I could at least use the excuse that "The storm" has found them worthy. The party seems to be getting pretty evil as the ranger keeps sawing off every opponents head and the beguiler seems to steal anything that isnt bolted down |
| RobbyPants10-17-07, 10:49 PM | As long as your PC isn't going to violently try to convert the others, or otherwise disrupt the game, it shouldn't be a problem. There's nothing wrong with making him evangalistic, so long as he doesn't try to "kill all the heathens." Have him try to preach of the virtures of the storm to the PCs, and if they don't follow his beliefs, then instead, allow them to believe what they will, and lead by example (whatever that means for his ethos :P). Long story short: have fun with this guy so long as he won't ruin the game ;) |
