Well, Dumb ol me chose to play an exalted character in a campaign. I figured why not, I've never done it, it will be a new experience. Unfortunatly The two other pc's are borth assasins. Well basicly, One has the actual assasin class, and one is on his way to that. They are both very much so evil. How am i to cope?

1) Give your character to the DM to be made into a BBEG.

2) Make a Blackguard.

Exalted and Evil mix like oil and water. No, more like Nitro and Glycerine. Theres no feasible way out of this one than someone giving up their character and making something else.

Well, first and foremost, the GM should have stopped someone, either you or them, depending on what kind of game he's running. Since I'm getting the impression that the other two were established characters, he should have informed you that the party contained two evil characters and that you'd need a character who would fit in (the other option would have been to tell the other two that he isn't running a game where evil PCs are appropriate, but seems it's too late for that).

Assuming you're willing to enter this game, just tell the GM that you want to change your character before the interparty strife ruins everybody's fun. (Note: If the GM gives any indication that he's looking forward to the interparty strife, RUN.) Make a (something) Neutral character if you don't like playing evil, so at least you can take up some level of not caring about the actions of the other two.

I doubted between putting my question here and making a new topic for it, it should be obvious what I chose.
When is a character considered exalted? When it uses any material from the BoED? Or when it has exalted feats? Or when it is just plain good? :)

when its Claiming to be exalted I would assume. Since to take the exalted feets you need to be exalted. read The book and the first 10 or so pages, it depicts what it means to be exalted. Follow those guidelines, and there you go.

And the problem is, Im in the campaign, its started. There is no turning back. I will have to cope.

Ok, catch the assassins in the act of performing a truly evil deed. Call the town guard on them and subdue them. Then have your character go his own path to repent for associating with them.

Meanwhile, in the stockade, a mysterious dark priest (your new character) releases the assassins from their cages and escorts them to a hidden temple (to either Nerull, Cyric, or The Mockery depending on the setting) requiring their services. Of course there's no real option in whether or not the assassins accept the mission. The mission is whatever task the DM has waiting for your party next.

Having me make new characters is not the path I wish to take. I am going to stick it out, and try my hardest to retain my abilities and stick to my exalted character.

Sorry. It's just not possible. Paladins are hard to play together with characters that represent the lesser kinds of evil. Exalted are basically Paladins^2 while assassins are definitely Evil with a capital E.
There are many cool things one can do with an Exalted character - being together in a party with truly evil characters is not one of them.

Agreed. Paladins can't play with evil characters unless a lead sheet is involved (or, more likely, a nondetection spell). If the Paladin finds out that the guy is Evil, he is obligated to force him out of the party or leave himself. Failure to do one of the two results in a loss of all class features. Some DM's are more leniant, meaning the Paladin can keep the character in question on a very short leash, but generally it's Paladin + Evil Party Member = Ex-Paladin.

With Exalted people the standards are even higher. If there is an Exalted character in a party, nobody in the party can be evil, do an evil act (even if it's as little as not apologising for breaking something belonging to someone else), and in some cases they aren't even allowed to kill enemies, but rather have to subdue them.

It is simply impossible for an Exalted character to associate with two assassins without losing their Exalted status. As soon as he even gets a whiff of evil, he HAS to call the authorities and aid them in subduing the evildoers. No two ways about it. The only option is how you confront them.

It's not impossible, but it'd require extreme reasons to stay together in a campaign.

If celestials can help devils/demons in the blood war, then exalted can work together with assassins.

The reason celestials sell arms in the Blood War is because if either side won, the rest of the multiverse would be in deep ****. I don't think this can be used, unless the exalted guy, instead of reporting them, attempted to redeem them or something.

I'm guessing that's an initialisation of Big... Bold Enemy Guy?
Just call him a Big Good Guy and leave it at that. :P
Hahaha.:)

I would like to echo what's being said.

I was in a campaign as an exalted cleric. We had a necromancer in the party who was LN with some hints of LE. It was just too much work justifying why we were in the same group. I constantly had to play my charecter stupid in order to make it work, and if there's one thing that isn't fun, its playing exalted stupid. Makes all the forces of good look bad.

Now that cleric is still my favorite charecter I ever made, but I eventually had him walk away from the party and rolled up a rogue. I had a lot more fun from that point on. There is no reason to play against the group.

Hmmm... is it possible to have an exalted character whose primary instinct is to reform evildoers, rather than smite them? If so, you can buy yourself a little bit of time, at least until the rest of the party do something truly evil, and force your character to leave/smite them. Especially if your missions, etc. are genuinely and clearly good in purpose. Otherwise, I just don't see how you can RP it honestly.
