I am a relative newb to D&D, and I was wondering if anyone could relate some info to me about extradimensional planes. Just some basics on how they act and such

Posting information like that would probably violate the Code of Conduct here, since it's copyrighted information that isn't Open Gaming content, but I can at least refer you to a place to get a good primer on the planes if you aren't interested in purchasing the Manual of the Planes.

Go to page 147 of the 3.5 Dungeon Master's Guide, and read everything from "Adventuring on Other Planes" all the way to page 168, which covers basic planar concepts, basic planar descriptions for the planes on the "Great Wheel" cosmology that D&D uses, and then goes into some light information on how to create your own cosmology and specific planes. It's all just kinda taken from the actual Manual of the Planes, however, and you'd be better off just purchasing that book. Unless recent printings have changed the cover price, it's one of the less-expensive D&D books out there, only $29.95 for a 223 page book. You can get it for less by buying it through someplace like Amazon.com or Half.com If you have a Wizards of the Coast store in your local mall, the stores all have their Dungeons & Dragons stock reduced in price, because the stores are going to be closing. The one in my area right now has D&D books at 30% off, which is about what you'd get if you bought the book on Amazon.

Hope you have fun planewalking! It's one of my favorite parts of Dungeons & Dragons. Also, later this year look out for the Planar Handbook, which comes out this Fall, I believe. I think it's intended to be a player's supplement for the actual Manual of the Planes, but I'm sure there'll be some great content in there for Dungeon Masters as well.
